hi all,
not sure if this is the right spot but was wondering if anyone knows where to get the history of our beloved vws. im not talking about volkswagen as the company i mean individual cars. Ive got the VIN numbers and stuff but i cant find any websites that help. Even the samba has slim pickings for aussie cars. any help would be appreciated. Just for interest anyone else got an original vw key that has been made in Montreal Canada? my original is and i want to know the history of my 70 notchback
cheers

possible that the "dominion lock company" made the keyblanks for VW at some point ?

I've seen a lot of VW keys over the years but never seen an original VW key made in Canada...
French Canada at that...
it looks like an original Copper key and the chrome has worn off...

I've nver seen made in Germany on any keys either..
usually the makers name or trade mark...

You do have an odd - rare key there...

why would you send your vw to canada to get a repro
?

canadian company may have produced blanks as stated above - the blank then cut here from an original.
