Anyone know who in Brisbane can supply these? I hear that there are two types: screw in and press in. Anyone have an opinion on which is better (easier, cheaper, stronger etc.) and why?

Thanks,

Mick.

I bought 'set screws' (high tensile bolts with thread all the way to the head) and screwed them in from the backside of the hub. But they were $16 each!! Ouch.

Bizarre ·

The press in's are for when you drill a blank drum.

The screw in are for converting a drilled drum/rotor.

They are excellent.

I put the V Force ones on the other day and VERY happy.
Just screw in with a drop of lock-tite

Hi

The best thing is you don't have to sit on the ground to line up your wheel nuts when changing wheels.

I agree. I bought screw ins as well they worked well but somehow I felt that they were a bit flimsy. They held on very well though. I am not sure what they were made off but were not expensive. If I was to do it again I would probably look around for some stronger ones. If V Force uses them for their racing cars or recommend them theirs for street use then I would get some of them.

M14x1.5 shouldn't feel flimsy!!

Depends on the raw material used to make them... I am no expert but I assume that if the metal is mixed in a certain way or manufactured in a certain way the bolts may not respond too well to stress from a bump, weight, etc. Again, I am no expert. Yours sound good VWCOOL, especially since they cost $16/each. I think mine were half or less, but I honestly don't remember.

Well I just found out that the new wheels are being supplied with the correct bolts/washers.

I spoke to Rohan at Micks and for $21 per wheel they'll supply the kit as long as their nuts/washers suit my new wheels. Pretty good $ so I think I'll go for them anyway (after I get the wheels and take one to Micks to compare the landing surface).

Thanks all,

Mick.
