beetle in aussie movie (the cars that ate Paris)

Hi guys, I saw this movie today on foxtel. i remember seeing it as a young kid.

its the silver beetle with all the spikes on it.

it looks like it was an oval after looking at the movie again tonight.

The movie was shot in Safala, which is 6 hours away from sydney and close to Tamworth.

any one know what ever happened to this oval ?

the spikes could be taken on & off...

somehow they stuck to the car... maybe strong magnets.

naturally its like Herbie, any beetle with bits added...

Maybe the original beetle had them all screwed to the body... Yikes... thats a lot of holes...??
