i used to say, old enough to know better, but young enough to get away with it. now its more along the lines of young enough to want too but too old to do it without feeling it for the next day or two.

im 19 got my baja at 16 and have been woking on it since then , its my daily driver and my weekend toy all in one 🙂
i also grew up with the autosaloon style jap imports in which 90% of my freinds are big into,, drifting on weekends and innporting and selling during the week, they always jump at the chance to go for a cruise in the baja though as what drifter setup jap import can fly through the bush and mud, not to mention the fun factor and wow factor of the screeming rotary in the back ( ear muffs are almost essential)

im lucky i didnt have the dough for a car until just before i got my square. if i had the money when i was 16, it would have been a 180sx, then a ae86, silvia, if 17 then either a datto 1600, 400K Skyline or a bug. took me a while but i finally decided on type 3s :P

type 3s are the coolest, when I was looking around for a car to buy when I was 17 my aunty was trying to convince me to get a Honda Civic, but my dad said "the only way I am letting you have a car is if it's a good car, so go find yourself a beetle to buy". around the same time me and dad were driving around and saw a fasty, I had seen them at valla and thought they were cool but had forgotten about them. So I said "dad i want a fasty I don't want a beetle" so good old dad went on a mission to find me a fasty, I'm so glad he found one 😁

my dad wanted me to buy a beetle, but it wasnt very practical because i gig a bit and u cant really fit loads of equipment in a bug. hence the square😵

electricmonk, ur in trouble, just back today from heart bypass and read your "bit at the bottom" think I may have done irepairable damage to the repairs, my lawer wants your address.
57 0r close to that. One week 2 days four hours ago I was going on for 30, now I reckon I've slipped back a bit, going on for 90, reckon it'l be another week or so then reckon I'll be going on for 25 or so they tell me. Long as I can slide into the buggy I don't realy give a toss.

LOL don't ask me what the hell happened. I got the Golf for the first wife just before I found her cheating. At that stage I still hated small cars. She wanted me to give her the car but I kept it. I then went back to early Holdens. I then had some sort of "break from reality" and ended up thinking Bug's looked kinda cool and progressed to Type3 Squarback lover. I keep thinking I will wake up soon and it will all turn out to be some sort of nightmare. God, why hast thou forsaken me? The dark side is calling and her song sounds so sweet.

55 yrs young ... my first VW was my dads Type 3 Sqback which I drove when I got my license..unfortuneately someone wrote it off on dad when he was driving home from work late one night...I used to drive it on the condition that I took mum for her shopping
