hi all
thought we would show some pics of the new family member, Gladys the old girl.
we picked her up a few weeks ago from a forum member,she is a 60 girl dechromed and bumpers removed for that 80's cal look.
she will soon be slammed to the ground with a 2" narrowed adjustable beam and accessorised to the max
here are some pics after the de-calification process.
she is also now running a 1600 with twin kadrons and electonic iginition.
should be on the road real soon, will keep you updated.

The holes in Herman were made by a head Henry. Luckily not mine, and no one was too badly hurt either! He was quite a looker back in his day when Bob had him!
Hopefully shouldn't be too long until she is lowered. We are looking at doing it after she is licensed. We want her low and slow :P

Her wheels will be two toned soon, we just painted them all white for now to tidy up the different coloured rims she had on there. White walls came up a treat, the guy who put them on did a fantastic job, they all sat right first go!
Not long now till she will get down low, and go go go!!!!

I too have had a loooowww swing axle beetle and yes they do last for a while but as for long term NO they bloody don't.

Gladys got her new shoes today, but she will have to share them with the Splitty (generous isn't she)... some nice Chrome BRM's, with 145/65's up front and 195/60's on the rear. Finally got a rear venetian for her back window and an Empi GTV badge.
So she is pretty much done now... or is she? Time to move onto the Split for some luvin!!!

Hey Guys. I recently took my girl to the Gold Coast show, and with a bit of Spit and Polish she came up a treat! It must have worked because to my disbelief she won The Riviera Choice Award. I'm not one to go to a show and expect to win a trophy. She is how i want her to be, not how i think she should be for everyone to like her.

Thanks heaps Jen, the L Bug is still back in Perth at my parents house, it'll come over eventually, still has a few things that need doing to finish it off. We've got the Black and Tan splitty that you would have seen at Valla also. We sold the our Subaru powered Bay and Karmann Ghia to get our house and sadly had to sell my 60's Beetle, just dont have the room to keep them all.🙁 Need to get a bigger place now me thinks 😉

great stuff, another rat ute for qld, we can park next to each other at dubs and take photos, better still, join the cruise for boondall, it will have a buddy
