I am entered, as is Rod (RAZ34) in his '61.
I heard that Col (15.0, 1584cc), and Morgie Smith are coming,
but not sure.
Who else?

Im entered might be a bit slower this year as i think the clutch is finally on its way out(been in for 5 years) and the wrecker special box is getting noisy but thats not stoppining me going out and having fun馃榿

This is at willowbank right ? Never been there might have to have a ride down and check out the action !!! WHat time does it kick off ?
dangerous 路
Yes, Willowbank Drag Strip is out past Amberly,
on the Cunningham Highway.
Best way to get there is via the Logan toll road.
It is about 120kmm to get there depending where on the Gold Coast you live.
Gates open at 6.30am, but qualifying does not start til 9am,
and the quick guys start at 2pm.
Go the Volksies!!
Dasdubber 路
Looks like I should be coming out to spectate and lend a hand for any of you guys racing - can't wait to see some of these quick volksies run!

Dangerous I hear that there is a no show from Online with the CRX??? I'm guessing there is one big smile on your dial!!!!(as you are putting the finishing touches on those muffins:thumb)

I am not exactly disappointed, but would have liked to see the car run again,
and have another look at its engineering.
The event this year is not and ANDRA Record event like it was last year.
You can set a Sport Compact Group record though.
I am just hoping to go a bit faster than my PB,
and with luck, a couple of rounds of racing so I can run the car in some good air at night.
LIFE IN THE LOW LANE 路
i had a good look at it last year and the engineering involved is top notch!! To hear that thing corss the line under full power is undescribable. The guy was telling me it runs to just over 10 000 rpm!! By the sounds of it at the traps it's not far off.
BeetleJuice 路
Might see if I can come down with the camera!
What time does it finish? Got to play golf first!

im gonna be there, in a datsun 1600 wagon unfortunately(anone interested in buying one?).

Was good and bad stories for most of us last night.
Poor old Morgie had a Porsche 912 rod let go inside his case,
but Macca said they will be up and running before the Compak Attack
on May19th at WSID.
Col and Rod both got past first round and Rod ran some 12.20"s and over 112mph!
Col cracked a stunning 14.89@ 90mph...man that is one fast 1584cc n/a Volksy!!
I was very lucky and ran a best of 11.400 to win the final of "All Motor" and a new record of 11.400.
Thanks to the many Volksy people that came along to support us, and my crew for the day Andrew(Stanley), and Alan.
Also Damo, the Volksy dude with the red shirt & piercings (sorry I cant remember your name...Sam?), Brennden, Waco(sp?), Richie, and the drivers and crews from the other teams who were there with encouragement through out the day.(sorry if I missed anyone).
It was a big night for me since my last win was in 1995(wow, back when the dinosoars roamed the earth!)

No probs Dave!! Always glad to help:thumb congrats on the win. But man those Alcorn boys are getting fast!!
Got some pics to post up when I get a chance. Also big thumbs up to Col for his efforts yesterday and he wasn't the slowest car out there by a long shot!! Wonder how fast you would have gone if you let us at you car to remove all that excess weight eh!!
Was a great day and the VW's have now won the first 2 rounds of Sport compact All motor. Let's keep it going now and not spoil a perfect record!!

I take it that the Alcorn boys have that Honda that Rod ran..?
Did I hear it ran 11.82? If so what was the terminal speed?

Again sorry for the poor video skills (will need to invest in an actual digi video cam one day)....I think this was the start of col's run (bit of a bog)...
And another of Dave's runs - was this the one you slightly missed the start Dave (ie. lost concentration slightly)?
Dasdubber 路
The brothers running the hondas have two - one running just under 14 (first time 13.9? which was a break out), and the other into the 11.8's - sorry don't know any engine specs and can't recall best MPH (116 or 117 from memory for the faster of the two cars - ie. the red one)
RAZ34 路
Thanks to all who attended and helped out. We had a busy pit all day. Im sure the VW drag ranks will keep growing.
Also thanks to Pete (Dak-a-Tak) for his endless effort on my car. A few observations from the day :-
1. You think you are going fast till a Honda or Dave passes you at 118mph.
2. The Smith car looks stunning in its new paint.
3. You dont realise how crazy the rotary guys are till you watch a pass from the start line.
Rod .

a very big congratulations to all who participated in the event . Well done Dave on your new PB and record . sorry to hear about Morgans engine , that thing was really going well at Heathcote . I'm sure that they will have it going again soon .

The Alcorn Boys ran into the 11.6's which is pretty stout.
I know this is a VW forum but I have to give them a pat on the back
for being very good sported fellows, and very friendly.
Those cars are pretty impressive!
Did I tell you that those times they ran were on street tyres
and then they packed up and drove both home!
I know that Glenn and Jason both get on and have a look at Aussieveedubbers, so, good effort guys!
et for their first car 12.3 and running 11.6s? nice
well done dave! top effort! and to col, rob and the smith bro's! would have loved to have seen some video of their freshly painted rig down the strip 馃檪

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE 路
From memory the slower of the 2 alcorn brothers is running an 84-85ish Civic(gutted shell) with the 1600 vtec transplanted into it. Aftermarket ECU with intake and exhaust mods and on street tyres. Ran into the 13's for the first time against Dangerous in the final.
His brothers car is a little more serious and isnt road registered from memory and has honda's k20 2 litre vtec in it(from Type S Integra/ S2000) It has exhaust, aftermarket ECU and intake mods. I think he ran a best of 11.61 at 116mph again on street legal drag radials. Both these cars would weigh about 900kg with driver.
Hats off to them both for their efforts and consistancy. I think all motor category is starting to be touted as the VW vs VTEC category LOL
dangerous 路
I spoke with Jason and Glenn during the day and after the final.
Both these cars were driven home after the event.
Cars are less than 800kg ready to race.
K20A and B16A are the engine designations from the links I posted above.
OK. Enough Honda talk!!

Hep !! good one Dave !! test & tuning are starting to pay
off .It really cracked in the header on each gear change .
Rod and Dave race was very tuff both ran very hard.Rods
red light was 388 (400 is perfect ).
New header on Rods car seems to be okay ,as he ran 109.8mph in heat of day and then 112mph in first round race (best ever mph)
Here are my pics befor camera whet flat ( good one wife)
