PHAT BUG ·

Hey Dean, Can the Bendigo club come to?

Rhett.

Grey 57 ·

Yup Rhett, cant see why not mate.

Let Chris or Stuart (on the mobile no's listed) know how many.

PHAT BUG ·

will do mate.

Thats the one detail I have to find out. We are booking the track for the day. But I'm not totally sure what the official start time will be. Let you all know ASAP.

blutopless2 ·

is there gonna be a mass cruise up from melb??

Grey 57 ·

Good idea Rod. I have a chat with the club guys and post something up😁

blutopless2 ·

Oval or the NB Cab will be fine.

Helmets are cheep. Bought one from a Motocycle shop in Brighton for $90.00 Even has flames painted on it. :P So it has to make me go faster!!

blutopless2 ·

NB Cab??? hahaha... can just see Tracey's face now...
and i dunno that the oval would pass scrutineering... lol

Grey 57 ·

It will be fine Rod, as long as its not pissing oil out every where.
They check throttle return springs, seatbelts, tyres, that sort of thing

Too all who are coming. dont forget.

- Contact Chris or Stuart to book

- And very important. -- Your vehicle may be street-registered, in which case you’ll need to bring your civil driver’s licence and current registration papers with you. If the vehicle is not street-registered you need to bring your ANDRA licence and ANDRA log book. Without these documents you will not be permitted to race.

The VW club of Vic have hired the track for the day so it's all VW racing!
$40 to race
$10 for spectators

Booking with the club is a must to get the number up.
It does NOT matter how fast or slow your car is as long as it doesn't leak oil and you bring your helmet you can have some fun.

Contact Stuart on
9369 1360
0409 691360

Plenty of cars have raced at Heatcote without rego.
Just as long as it's safe.
Having rego might be a club thing though?
don't get discouraged with that though.

no oil leaking engines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wouldnt let my old girl near the track, but if i could have gotten the bug bolted together in time i would have been rather intrigued to see how it went, or the other new toy at our place 1971 volvo 144S, still has rego, but lots of badly bogged up rust which probably wouldnt go down well. also possibly well on way to needing new clutch, but it does have 4 wheel disks and 88kW 😀

Grey 57 ·

OK Draggers!! I have the final details of this day.

We have over 25 cars confirmed. And a few quick ones too from both interstate and local.
Vic VW Club will have a lunch and drinks available for club members. Heatcote will also have the food shop operating.

Racing starts at 11.00am and runs thru to 4.00pm with a 1 hour lunch break from 1.00pm to 2.00pm.

Ideally, you would need to get there before 11.00am to get your car scrutineered.

The VW Club Vic will be coordinating a cruise up to Heatcote on Sat morning.

I will meet all interested in a VW cruise up to Heatcote, outside the Calder Park Race Way from 8.00am with a Cruise departure time of 8.30am.

If you need any more info on the cruise contact me on 0412 500 588.

Or details on the drag day call
Chris VWCV Motor Sports Coordinator on 0407 309 244
or Stuart 03 9369 1360

Looking like this will be a great event. See you all there!!!

Grey 57 ·

Bump. 1 week to go. 👍😉

Notch Nut ·

I was at Heathcote this Saturday just gone. Great fun and all legal. Oh, and we left plenty of rubber on the track for you guys😎
I probably won't make it in the notch. 30 seconds for a1/4 mile is just dismal (not to mention the oil leaks etc..)

blutopless2 ·

cool... see you at calder park. :thumb

Grey 57 ·

Best time was 13.26sec @ 96.96MPH. Couldn't crack the magic 100mph and I didn't want to do the clutch/gearbox as I use the ol' girl as a commuter as well. It certainly pissed alot of Softail & Dyna owners off as it was quicker than most of them as well ($35k bikes in standard form let alone modifications!).
Much fun was had by all.....

Grey 57 ·

Last bump before the day. Karmans all good to go. Dived underneath this week with the spanners and checked the tighness of the CV bolts and stuff. Dont want anything dropping off at speed now do we!!!. Especially an axle🤪

Boostn ·

Grey 57 wrote:Especially an axle🤪
You have another one what's the problem?

I am still prepping mine at 12.36pm
I meet you guys there seeing as we go the other way and peel off the Hume.

Notch Nut ·

Any pics of the day???

jhp1 ·

Theres some in the drag racing section
