Here's a piccie from this Sunday from over Teewah beach. I've already posted it on Buggy adventures but thought some of you might like it. Please note the colour of the sky and the total lack of any kind of weather protection on the buggies:cry We watched as about 4 or 5 of these twisters built up and then came to the conclusion that maybe this wasn't the best day to go for a drive up the beach, especially without a roof:jesus

damn barry, thats pretty crazy!

who owns the other buggy? looks pretty tidy.

have you got a high res version of that pic?

ancientbugger ·

Hey Nick, long time no see! The other buggy belongs to my mate Mac. Subi engine, very well built but not pretty in the least. Built to go not for show. I do have higher res shots at 600kbs plus others taken at that time.

Yeh Nick I've still got your e-mail address and I'll e-mail you straight after this. Andrew I've not heard from you in ages. When we first saw them starting to develop we thought they were the other side of Double Island (which was around 8-10 k's away) but they ended up being about a half kilometre away. In fact we drove from one side of them to the other side in between the first one hitting the beach and the second

Awesome!! I love extreme weather, would have been exciting being that close.... for me excitedness would far outweigh the scariness! :P

Would make an awsome poster. Great pics.

I added some colour corrected versions, to bring out the sand and car colours, and to add a little contrast to the twisters. Like this;
