After selling my 56 oval I thought i'd remove all the details I had about it from this topic.
I now will just post info about the project I'd been working on.
Its another 56 oval 🤪
Have a few beers and get out the angle grinder.
I find this settles the nerves.
BUGBOY ·
check and recheck.
you only get one chance at stuff like this.
HotRodMatt ·
Good to see a face shield in use!
BUGBOY ·
Time to spot it all in.
the fit turned out spot on.
As always ,lot of pratice:thumb
BUGBOY ·
Time to run the dolly around and get it all in shape for welding.
BUGBOY ·
Used a mild steel wire with a high silicon content.
Found this wire flowed really well.
Also welding with a tig.
Mig welding a roof clip gives you a hard beed of weld that is hard to work with later.
BUGBOY ·
Clip is all welded in and ready for a bit of work with the flipper.
This will get the roof back into shape that the heat has produced.
Next is the front spare wheel well as it needs a bit of work.
BUGBOY ·
This car is only going to be a custom.
After the the front is all fixed up i`ll be working on the rear clip to make sure the motor will fit.
I`ll try to keep an update on here.
pete wood ·
looking good. What is it with all the rag top conversions of late? you guys all make it look easy. :duh
BTW, how custom...can't see a chop job yet 👍
BUGBOY ·
No need to do a chop top with an oval.
but lets just say with the mods on this oval it will run a few PSI.
I want to keep the body as stock as possible.
But it will run disc brakes and a better engine than stock.:thumbnn[ Edited on 8-8-2005 by BUGBOY ]

Don`t forget your welcome to come over and watch it work any time mate!
BenettonVW ·
Nice one mate, excellent.
I better come down and check out this work.... oh and the fridge... 😉
BUGBOY ·
Well this projects come to a stop and the only thing thats getting a good work out is the fridge.
Might have to pull the plug!
Pulled the old shitty mirrors off the TINKDF and put on some others.
As for the rag project i`ll start on that again next week.

MR Bubble head comes over to help a lot!
Still never get anything done?
He was just saying the other night he never drank as much till he moved into the hood.:P
BUGBOY ·
Well I have only done a little work on this car since the last post on here.
Been working on a late model type 3 sqaure back for the wife.
Also I now have a 7 week old daughter called Eve.
This has taken up so much time.
The rag roof has had about 18 hours spent on it with hammer and dollies and has been filed back to near full metal finish.
It has also been lead wiped to fix any areas that just wouldn`t come to the party.
I`ll post pictures up early next week.

Mr Bubble Head ·
...carn't beat a hole in ya roof I put one in to match the one in my head. Now the race is on who's oval rag is going to roll first if I put a padlock on the fridge maybe could be a close race.
Deano get a hole dude !! its saves bending over leaning out of the window to see uranus.
Grey 57 ·
cant cut a hole in a nice T34 like mine. If i want to see Uranus I will go out in "her in doors" new toy. check it!! Not vw tho. But not too bad either.
Mr Bubble Head ·
Shes got to be lovin that !!! You carn't beat the feeling of a cabs with the hood down 306's are great cars :thumb:thumb
BUGBOY ·
Here is the roof all filed back.
Never thought it would be so hard to find the flux to do this job, also files that don`t clog up.
Had to find files which where like what you would use on wood.
As you can see it does give a nice finish which will last for ever.
The big plus with using this method is that the roof of a car can get very hot in summer and advantage of this stuff is it will move with the body eg. expands and contracts with the heat with out cracking.
Don`t get me wrong as filler would work just as well if done right as it has come a long way over the years but I like the old school methods.
Next is to clean it all down and get it in primer.
Might even make some sinkers with the left overs:thumb
VWFOOL ·
nice work, so envious 🙂
Grey 57 ·
Nice work Nath, lead loading is real old skooll these days but it comes up a treat. :thumb:thumb

Well the roofs now in primer.
Been working on a few dents here and there.
Will try to get some more pictures up this week.

This side had a long crease along the bottom.
A few hours work with the fliper and a bit of heating and shrinking and its all back to shape.
Have only a few more little dents left to fix and then I have to fit the front clip. Not looking forward to that as it a big job.

Well done mate - will make it a lot easier for you!
BUGBOY ·
Yeah this will make life heaps better, as now i can clean the whole underside, repair and paint etc.
This set up I thought was the best and %90 of panel work is fixing front and rear ends.
This way I have great access to both and nothing to trip over.
I have also made it to take a floor pan and my next project a country buggy.
Killed a few birds with one stone so to speak.
I still have to finish it by fully welding it all up, fit the wheels and paint it.
I'll post another update of the whole thing done hopefully next week.:thumb
oval TOFU ·
you got da mad skillz Nath.. good on ya!

Grey 57 ·

BUGBOY ·
Well the serious panel work has begun. As the car is going to be fitted with a later motor and the oval beetle engine bay is very small so the rear apron has been made so it can be removed.
Also the car has had a knock in the front at some stage of its life and needs a good clean up.
I always thought i'd cut the bit of panel off and weld in a fresh bit but maybe not just yet.
:thumb
Dasdubber ·
How did you go with the rear apron Nath? Not too hard hey.....just have to make sure you trim the apron enough up the top corners so that when you slide it up and off it doesn't catch anywhere and scratch all the paint.
Looking forward to seeing some pics 👍
whatnow ·
nice work. it looks as though you put more than a few minutes of thought (and work for that matter) into that.
i wish i had one, not that my shed had a high enough ceilling to be able to use it the way it's intended.
BUGBOY ·
I have the same problem.
The good thing is its on wheels. You can take it outside to rotate and then wheel it back inside.
The only thing is if its all the way up, you have to work on it out side. But its nice working outside on a sunnyday.:beer
BUGBOY ·
The rear apron now has been removed , repaired and now can be taken off and on. Make work on the motor side of things easy.
This rear apron was just about shagged.
Dean Harvey at Inverloch sorted out all the panel work thats was beyond me.
It all comes down to having the skills and right tools to recover some panels that are in need of some serious work.
[ Edited on 20-9-2006 by BUGBOY ]
BUGBOY ·
The rear apron mounts up just like normal but has two extra plates the allow it to bolt up on the inside as well as the last to guard bolts. I wished to keep the inner skin and engine seal etc.

This was the part i was about to cut off!
The front clip on one side was what most of us would cut off, but not wanting to do this Dean and Neville sorted this out also.
It had a good hit here at some stage in its life and just looked %*#@.
Anyway it hasn't been cut and shut, i have had some of the stuff that was over my head done for me by a very good panel beater. As you can see this is starting to look the goods.
And his tools, a hammer chisel and a file and i tought i didn't have many tools.

The only thing i'm missing in the panel department for this car is the correct rear guards. If anyone has some good guards they want to part with send me a u2u.:thumb
BUGBOY ·
Front clip has had some more work done, will need to fit up the guard and bonnet to check the alignment etc.
BUGBOY ·
Due to the fact that as this beetle is pre seat belts I have cut all the mounts out of a 60's beetle and welded them all in.
Nothing worse than flying though your windscreen!
The finish on these is not all that important as its all covered by the interior etc.
[ Edited on 27-9-2006 by BUGBOY ]
BUGBOY ·
As you can see the shape is a little different to and oval but nothing a bit of cutting and welding wouldn't fix.
The rear belt mounts were a perfect fit.
BUGBOY ·
This rear quarter needed some work.
It had a large crack and a long crease.
Its all been welded up and knocked back into shape and has had a thin wipe of lead and is in the process of being filed back to shape.:thumb
Dasdubber ·
Looking very good mate - keep it up!
VWFREAK ·
Nice work Nath, you've got some skills, I wish I still lived in the area.
Can't wait to see the end product.
BUGBOY ·
Having trouble getting rear guards!
I'm up to checking the alignment of the guards to the body but as i don't have any rear guards I'm a bit stuck.
If anyone knows of some please let me know.:thumb They need to be in half good shape and have the raised bits between the bolt holes.
As for the floor pan not much as happened but I've collected most of the bits for the rebuild.
BenettonVW ·
Nice one man.. cruising along now...
Guards anyone?
BUGBOY ·
This panel needed a bit of work.
Its been knocked back into shape and a bit of heating and shrinking.
Its all been lead wiped and filed back.

could you give us a quick one two on lead wiping? how does it work? how do you do it?
BUGBOY ·
I only had one correct oval bonnet( different pressing ) to fit this car. The bonnet I used came of an oval I got a few years ago which had been rolled.
The bonnet has had about 15 hours work put into it so far but it should come up really nice.It had no rust but need a few dents and creases taken out.
BUGBOY ·
seat belt mounts are all now fitted and finished.:thumb
BUGBOY ·
The roof is all done.
as its a 60's beetle roof clip and the oval roof clip is a different shape it needed a lot of work at the front edge as an oval screen is lower than a 60's beetle.
Also the rear got a little lead.
[ Edited on 13-12-2006 by BUGBOY ]
BUGBOY ·
The bonnet is the one that came off a rolled oval I had.
It needed heaps of work but as it had no rust it was all I had to work with.
15 hours work and it now looks like this.:thumb
weapon ·
wow!
BUGBOY ·
The only hit this car had was in the front passenger side.
The side of the front clip was stuffed.
I was going cut it off and weld on another, but finding another proved a lot harder than I thought.
So after lots of beating and heaps of shrinking its all back to the correct shape.
The whole tire well was taken out and fixed and then put back in during this process.
BUGBOY ·
All the carpet clamps have also been removed and remade due to some rust.
I also wanted to see what it was like under the clamps.
No rust so the new ones where spot welded back on.
BUGBOY ·
The rear clip is finished.
It been made so I can unbolt it for ease of engine removal.
It bolts on with the last two bolts of rear guards on each side and two inner bolt on each side on the inside.
BUGBOY ·
Picked up some rear guards at the Day of the Volkswagen.
Will start work on these real soon and then I can check the work on the rear apron etc.
I have doors and front guards and will also be starting on them soon.

henry.
Chances or finding a goldie oval are very small here.
But you can do what I've done here and fit an early 60's beetle roof clip.
The rag top is correct size etc for a 56-57 oval and having all round corners etc.
These are know as two fold.
A three fold which is is whats in an early 50's have round and square corners and are also bigger.
The problem with fitting a 60's clip into an oval is the fact that the oval has a lower front roof section.(smaller screen)
This was why its fully welded in.
If I was ever to fit a 60's to a 60's beetle etc I would have unrolled the gutters and fitted the whole roof etc and only welded the front pillars and rear.
The problems with welding one in is all the work afterwards. I cut the roof and made it a perfect fit before welding, that way I had no extra metal.
It was all knocked back into shape.
This is where the problems begin.
The front corners sit up to high and the front edge of the clip I had cut right back which seemed to pull down ok.
The corners where tacked in and then tapped down.
After it was all fully welded the front corners where heated and shrunk and a few hours of hammering and some lead was used. They came up really good.
There is not a huge differences in the clips but if your not aware of it you could run into problems with making it look right.
There are heaps of ways to fit roof clips but in this case
I think you do you would need to fully weld the clip as that way you know the corners will never move.:thumb
whatnow ·
thanks for the above.
a few questions.
which way was the most amount of shaping needed? front to back (blue arrows)? or side to side (purple)? of equal on both?
i am assuming you cut the clip approx along the red line. if you were doing it again would you cut it there or cut it at the front of the roll (green), weld it from underneath and reform the reverse curve at the base of the roll with lead?
what about the corners, cut them square or follow something aproximating the black line?
was there much/any reshaping needed in the centre of the roof (yellow)?
do you know if the front plate in the sunroof will need reshaping or will the padding on the leading edge have enough give to avoid this.
thanks again and please pardon the shonky photoshop lines. i realized after i had finished that being left handed and using the mouse with my right hand = messy.
[ Edited on 22-12-2006 by whatnow ]
BUGBOY ·
The area marked with the blue and purple was the hardest. The yellow area was fine. I cut well clear of the black line you marked as that way it was clear underneath to work on and cut all four corners round when fitting as this will make it easy to fit.
I cut the front round and the rear square.
But when trying to weld the rear corners it pulled out of shape really easy.
If you look back a few pages you'll see it all being cut and welded etc.

great work so far! Dont mean to chime in, I did the 60's ragtop clip into my '59. What bugboy said is exactly right, I cut roughly a few inches around the opening, not too far otherwise you could not get to the underside of the joint after you welded it (so you could beat it if you needed) The corners (particularly the rear corners) tended to pop outwards a bit and needed a fair bit of work to get it nice and flat. If you trudge through the archives you can find my thread "black betty". dasddubber did the same thing as well.
BUGBOY ·
Stripped all the floor pan and sent off to be sand blasted.
came back looking good, have a few small repairs to do but nothing to bad.
BUGBOY ·
Have to do the battery tray , as you can see it has some fibreglass work done.
Looks neat but I prefer metal.:thumb
Two small pin holes and the old clutch cable repair trick.
No sure if I'll leave the hole and make a cap to cover or fill it in and replace cables the correct way. LOL:P

BUGBOY ·
Once the pans all fixed I better get onto the gear box and mounts etc
BUGBOY ·
I'll be welding up all the seat belt mount holes in the floor as I have now fitted them to the body like a 60's beetle.
I'll be mounting the centre buckles to the tunnel.
oval TOFU ·
wow Nath, you've been busy! Great to see you overcome those problems with the ragtop..
I think leaving that hole in the tunnel and making a cover for it will be good.. being able to access that area is invaluable I reckon... esp from experience...
top job- keep it up mate
BUGBOY ·
Fitted the old rag top today to do a final check on the way it sits at the front.
Have to say i'm pleased how it came out.
Looks like it will seal up nice.:thumb
BUGBOY ·
Put the pan on the frame and started cleaning a bit more and added some POR 15.

Started hanging the guards and doing repairs.
I didn't have a pair of good front guards so i've made one good one of two.
I'll post pictures soon.
I'm going to get all four guards and doors and deck lid acid dipped.
I have had to do a bit of work on the front passenger side with the bonnet on as the gap was not even. This was due to the hit that it had taken at some stage during its life.
Nevada51 ·
more pics please 😵💫 - it'll be a shame to paint it as it looks so good in bare metal 👍
Price wise, how does acid dipping compare to media blasting?
napat ·
WOW! I Great job you did Nathan.
Installing ragtop is different from what we do.
Will show you later :-)
BUGBOY ·
All the hang on panels have now been acid dipped.
This beats hours of sanding and mess.
I had a few panels to pick from and these are the best ones with the least work.
BUGBOY ·
After lots of hunting I ended up with a good pair of rear guards.
They have a few splits and repairs to be done but they also will file up good.
Dasdubber ·
Nice stuff Nathan - what is the prep work from here with the acid dipping? Any concerns the residue will be hiding in seams/nooks/crannies etc? Forgive my ignorance, I've only had experience with blasting to date.
Alan
BUGBOY ·
The front guards have had the same treatment.
The passenger side guard is made of two guards, as i couldn't find a good one with minimum work to be done.
if you look at the pictures you will note the join.
The biggest problem is finding guards with good edges that don't have kinks etc.
Both guards have been beaten and file finished.
As you will notice the car body has been coated in a primer as to keep ahead of the surface rust starting.
BUGBOY ·
Here is a shot of the other guard.
The decklid has also be dipped.
I thought this panel was rust free but found a small pin hole.
This will be drilled and welded, and then treated in behind the outer skin. POR 15
As you can see with the last shot the surface has been clean and the filing has begun.
This panel is also very good with only a few dents to be tapped and filed.
BUGBOY ·
Dasdubber wrote:Nice stuff Nathan - what is the prep work from here with the acid dipping? Any concerns the residue will be hiding in seams/nooks/crannies etc? Forgive my ignorance, I've only had experience with blasting to date.

Panels need to be washed down with scotch pads etc
This takes a bit of time and care, still it removes paint and rust so its worth it.
Here's a good read for you. CLICK HERE

BUGBOY ·
The drivers side door is hung and it only needed a little work.
It had three holes to be welded up.
Two where from a pull handle fitted to the interior and a side mirror from a late model beetle fitted to the outside.
The passenger door is not on yet, as I found that one of the screw plates that allow the door to be screwed too has fallen out!
These are just held in with a center tab and due to the body been flipped around on the work frame it must have fallen out.
So i've been hunting though boxes of bits today looking for another. LOL
Lucky I have a few put away, this is what they are.........
napat ·
Love your work Nathan :-)
Spend a few hours to view and enjoy your pictures.
Cheers,

Is it acid or alkaline? Mine was dipped but it is alkaline and then they blast it off with a hi pressure water gun and then heat up the car to dry it and then prime it.
I had the whole body done and all hanging parts. My new turbo body is going off to be soda blasted in a few weeks. So many options all with + & –.

Its all put though a few baths, but in the end you still need to wash the panels down and then heat them up to dry out like doors etc, then hit with primer.
As for the doors i'll post pictures later of how to do all the insides etc.
:thumb
BUGBOY ·
All the hang on panels are now finished.
They have all been hung and checking gaps etc.
The rear deck lid need a bit more work as the top edges don't line up real well but this could be part due to the fact one on the hinge mounts I have used is a bit knocked about.
BUGBOY ·
All these panel will be rubbed back later when I'm read for paint.
But in the mean time i want to check it all over.
Fit gauges, drill holes and mount brackets etc etc.
holes for pop-outs also as this saves drilling into fresh paint and finding things don't fit at the last minute.

Its really starting to look like a car now.
Still not sure on a colour etc and are having second thoughts on my motor plan.
I have a few ideas in the pipline but i'm starting to think 36hp is a good look.
Still haven't touched the floor pan for a while so I ight send a few days knocking out some dents and welding up the rust around the battery tray.
Turbo54 ·
Nice one Nathan, Polar silver would look a treat!
I can send you something that is in that colour if interested.

36hp all the way....:thumb

Starting to look the goods. Great work Nath.
Grey 57 ·
Nice work as always Nath. Hi Po 36hp is the go mate. Judson or Twin SU or Solex's.
Hey what about real old school re-power and drop in a early 356 Porsche donk!!
BUGBOY ·
Well after a lot of thought I've decided to go with all 36hp running gear.
I did have a turbo motor ready to be bolted together but after all the effort so far I thought the look of the 36hp would suit the car.
I want the 50's early 60's look so It's time to start scratching up some stuff to build a motor.
As the body was ready to start fitting up all the plumbing etc for the turbo eg welding on brackets drilling holes dummy assemble of engine in engine bay.
Now with a change of plans the body is ready to paint.
I just need to rub back the body and start prep for paint.
I'll be working on the floor pan again soon and sorting out the running gear.
Will dig out some tinware and get ready for powder coating.

Well here we go, if going to have a 36hp motor its got to have a bit more power and suit the look i want.
Most would know what this is but those who don't its a small supercharger made buy judson.
This unit is for 36hp motors.
its not all pictured here and needs a bit of work.
BUGBOY ·
The blower has been pulled down and been honed and all bearings replaced. All new vains and studs etc fitted.
All end caps have been cleaned and the main body recoated like original. new decals fitted and stampted.
BUGBOY ·
The oiler bottle as also been redone.
All cleaned and new parts fitted etc, new decal on glass jar.
The aircleaner has had the same love and new wire fitted and locking screws etc.
BUGBOY ·
The coil has not been touched yet, but it can only really be polished up.
The decal on this is still very good for its age and will stay.
These coils work on 6volt and 12 volt which is good as I'm going to be running 12volt.
This item came from a forum member.

Big thanks goes out to George Folchi and the judson register for all the help on this one.
Check out the register as its got lots of good info etc. http://vwjudsonregister.tripod.com/

Looking sweet nath. Nice old skool combo. Cant wait to go for ride in this one. When that blower kicks in and the 36horses are unleashed , time will stand still whoo hoo!!!:bounce:bounce
BUGBOY ·
It amazing how much stuff you collect over the years.
been digging though boxes of stuff for the engine build.
Been picking out tinware thats in good order and engine parts.
I worked it out I've collected early beetle stuff for 19 years!
Starting to show my age. :duh
I'm just glad I got a bit of 36hp stuff as most people have just chucked it out over the years.

I know the feeling only too well. Great to see another example of the high quality work you put out. I'm sure the little one will love this for there 16th. lol
BUGBOY ·
Got all the tinware ready for cleaning and also dug out some heater boxes, exhaust and collected some NOS pistons etc at a swapmeet.
Will get all the tinware acid dipped.
BUGBOY ·
well after reading the judson forum from front to back or is that screen to screen! LOL
It looks like I need to get myself an oil cooler from a 356.
the 356 oil cooler has more surface area and judsons tend to make motors run hot from what I read.
So this seems to be the method of fixing.
Time to ring around. LOL

Good luck with the search Nath:thumb
Can't wait to see this thing evolve, top work mate!!

Bugboy, can you tell me what type of paint was used on your charger housing? I've got to go down the same road as you with getting charger stripped down, vane slop checked etc

wrinkle black or semi-gloss black paint was the original stuff also.
Best to pop into you local body shop supplier etc
GASBNR ·
LOOKS GREAT NATHAN, top job.

Bugboy, i originally had my blower put straight onto my 36hp, as away alot with drilling i don't get the time to tinker and time to learn
how to do it myself. I should originally had the engine stripped down, end result was i blew a hole in the No 3 piston. Daryll Yates who
was the original owner of Volksmod did the rebuild, bigger oil cooler etc, he did some work on the heads to keep temperature down (not sure what ), but have
had 10,000 miles on it until blower seized, my fault. Make sure idler jet is locktite on as had that suck through, happens a bit. Exhaust was changed to reduce heat but according to Judson forum its better to keep standard as has a effect on Blower vaccum. Have talked to John Moxon about
ceramic coat blower housing bit he's said that most of the heat is generated by compression and not friction. I can get Daryl Yate's number if you want.
Regards Chip
BUGBOY ·
Thanks for the info chip.
I'm only building the engine stock but with a better oil cooler, nothing else. I knew of the stock exhaust was the best for back pressure.
I think if you look back the unit was made and sold as an upgrade to a stock engine and not really as a high performance unit.
I think this is where people try to get more out of it and in return they get problems.
I'll be building my motor and running it in first and them fitting the kit and run in the blower etc.
Something i'm looking forward to.
BUGBOY ·
Well its proving hard to find all the parts to build a 36hp engine, or maybe I'm just not looking or asking in the right places?
I have all the tinware sorted out and ready to be cleaned and painted.
Biggest thing is finding a case thats good in the cam tunnel as they never had bearings here and just ran in the case.
I have a few engines I can pull down but some of them a running fine but once just pulled down you just carn't put it back together if its worn and use it as it was.
If anyone has any 36hp stuff you think i might need feel free to send me a u2u. LOL
So far I have:
77mm pistons sets in a few over sizes.
pushrods
values
cam
BUGBOY ·
Still pulling down engines to find parts and cases suitable for rebuilding.
Will be cleaning and crack testing cases and checking cam tunnels on cases next.
I hoping to find a good case straight away and not pull to many apart.
Have collect up a full set of tinware now and are going to get it all cleaned.
I hate dirty engines YUK! 😂
vw54 ·
looks good Nathan
BUGBOY ·
Well the case is open.
The cam tunnel is fine and very little sign of wear.
But get a load of the cam.
Seem the hardening on the lifter has gone! LOL
Check out the wear also on the cam.
BUGBOY ·
For those not in the know, the lifter should not have a concave surface on the cam follower.
The one on the right is ok but the one on the left is stuffed.
All will be replace with new parts later.
The one still in the other half of the engine has worn right though and you can now see a hole. LOL
BUGBOY ·
Well all the tinware has been collected and acid dipped.
Just need to wash it all down and straighten ready for powder coating.
Nevada51 ·
Good to see the pieces coming together - are you going to go with satin or gloss finish?
BUGBOY ·
Well Over Christmas I thought that I should finish the car in 2008. LOL
So I arranged about getting it painted at Delux in Dandy.
Having no idea really about painting a car I thought I'd find out a bit from someone that's built heaps of great cars etc.
So the first thing was finish off a few little bits of welding here and there and strip the car back to bare metal again ready for the paint.
First I stripped the under side and painted it all with POR15.
Sprayed inside all the heater channels etc.
Then all the sides and roof where taken back to bare metal.
De-oxidised and etch primed.
BUGBOY ·
With most of the body now in primer it will be ready to find and repair any little marks and dents etc no picked up before.
Here is a few shots of Sasha putting on some primer.
BUGBOY ·
Still have all the inside to rub down and paint as well as all the guards.
At this stage the next step with the out side of the body will be to block it back to be ready for paint.
nbturbo ·
Oh the memories-all good. It's coming along really well.
Turbo54 ·
Fantastic job, I cant wait to be up to this stage.
Also I love the rotisserie. If it is straight enough, go black.
T54
BUGBOY ·
Well everything came to a grinding holt.
I have had a big clean out of some of my stuff, off loaded both my micro busses, twin cab ute even sold the 56 oval that i thought i'd never sell. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
And now have added another car to my collection.
Some of you my know this car, its been around for some time now.
It in fact was the first ever split beetle that i had ever seen.
The chance to own it was just to hard to knock back!
Work will start on the rag roof oval again soon.
As the sheds bare I have some more room to get to it.
VWCOOL ·
You gunna stick a rag top in it?!
lunar_c ·
It's almost a shame to paint over all of that brilliant lead wiping work! You are quite masterful with metal matey, I love the build, especially your choice of the 36hp with the old school blower.
Should be an amazing car to drive!
Regards,
Ben

I'll make sure Sam takes good care of the oval up here dude 👍
