crankshaft end float

I am re-using my flywheel while building my current motor. My last crank (suspect quality) was tight on the end float and required me to machine some of the flywheel spiggot to get the correct end float.

My new crank is closer to spec and now I need the material back!!
I have 1.01 of shims in there and need at least 0.1mm more.

What are the thickest end float shims available?

Can I use 4 shims?

Never done it myself but i have been told 4 shims is not a problem

have you checked the number one bearing to make sure its not moving in the crankcase

look at it while pushing the crank back n forth if its moving you need to fix that before you do the end float

No.1 is OK.....no movement.

The problem is b/c I faced the flywheel last time to suit the questionable stroker crank I was using. This has made the gap bigger and now even with three of the thickest shims I have ( 2 x 0.35, 1 x 0.3) I still have too much end float.

I reckon my only choice is thicker shims ?? or 4 of them??

yeah i get a thicker one and use 3 or another one the same or what ever it take to make it right
