Turbo header parts and Porsche stud brake drums

Hi all,

I'm selling my fancy custom made stainless steel turbo exhaust header. Its made to fit a 0.375" wider engine, so will probably require changing to fit other engines. That will mean shortening or lengthening 2 pipes.

The header is made to suit mounting a GT25R-260 to GT28R-320 turbo, and is made from 1.6mm 1 1/2" stainless. All welds were done in TIG by one of the best welders in Cairns. The quality is flawless.

The entire header and 2.5" dump pipe is wrapped in high temp carbon impregnated exhaust header wrap. This system would be well suited to any engine from 1.6-2lt with the above mentioned turbo's. Potential for a maximum of about 270rwhp provided your engine is built for it and you have supporting hardware (intercooling etc).

Ask if you need more details. I'm asking $650 for the header and dump pipe as pictured.

The brakes that I also have for sale are modified and re-drilled type 3 rear drums. The splines have been machined back 15mm so they will fit 1966 and earlier vw's. On that model car you can fit 15x7" porsche alloys with tyres up to 215x55x15's. I have the backing plates, wheel cylinders, machined hubs and drums and shoes. They could do with new drums and shoes though, as these are past machining. Bolt pattern is 5x130 porsche.

I also have a full set of 20 x longer porsche wheel bolts that allow fitment of porsche alloys with enough thread penetration into the hub so that its safe. I will take a pic of the brakes and if anyone is interested.

These pics are of my 2332 turbo engine that ran this header for about 2000K's. The intake and intercooler setups are available as well, but Reub has first dibs on the throttle bodies.

The entire intake system was all bolt together and does not leak boost like my CB based intake was prone to doing. The cast CB end tanks are merged and port matched to the intakes. Quite possibly the best thing I came up with as far as design goes for this intake arrangement. I'm open to offers for this stuff, but keep in mind the intercoolers already gone, but is still pictured.

Last of all is the remaining odd bits and pieces I have left over. This is:

1 set of 4 14mm 380cc bosch low impedance injectors (supports about 60hp per injector) $240
1 pair of IDF style intake manifolds with injector bosses $
offers?
1 pair of NEW 1968 dual lift window regulators (for single window conversions). $50

My details are:

Name: Ian Swinkels
Location : Cairns, and will freight the stuff anywhere.
Phone: 0434 147 478

Cheers,
Ian

I forgot to mention, the turbo header requires a 38mm external wastegate to regulate boost. A turbosmart street gate would be perfect. I ran this system as a vent to atmosphere setup (screamer) though it could be easily piped back into the dump pipe.

The GT25R turbo's normally use an internally gated turbo with an actuator that operates the internal gate. The problem with the standard actuator is that it doesnt clear the rear apron. Running the external gate solved that issue, and provides better boost control as well.

Cheers,
Ian

G'day Ian, I'd like to put my hands up for the injectors. Will just double check they will suit my application before confirming though if that is okay?
Are they new/what sort of condition/will they need any refurbishment before installation?

Cheers
Alan

Here are some pics of the manifolds. These are the standard twin port ones that I ran on my 1641 turbo. They are un ported but are modified a little. There is fitting for vacuum balance, and a also for a boost/vacuum 3mm gauge fitting in the side of one of the manifolds.

I forgot to mention that I have the billet fuel rails to go with the manifolds as well.

All the fittings can be easily welded up if you desire to do so.

Dasdubber, the injectors are low impedance so they are compatible with 99% of all modern aftermarket engine management. I made 165rwhp with these on my 1641. The injectors could do with a new set of o-rings prior to installation.

Cheers,
Ian

At last a pic of the header...!

Uploading pictures to this forum is crazy! I had to re-size 3 times till i had them small enough to upload...

You can just see the bung on the dump pipe where a wideband O2 sensor can be screwed in as well.

More pics can be taken on request...

Throttle bodies and wheel bolts are sold, everything else is still up for grabs.

Ian, where are the dual lift window regulators made? German or Taiwan?

How do I tell where they were made? I can tell you Ive had them for about 5 years... they have the glass lift channels too, but they were obtained secondhand.

Cheers,
Ian

It should be stamped on if they are German

I will take the window regulators mate, can you let me know how much for freight to caboolture, cheers

2443TT ·

There is no stamp on the window regulators like your picture david, so i guess they are mexican or brazilian. Still they are new. I greased them up and was going to use them but decided on power windows instead.

You still have first dibs on them David, let me know if you dont want them tho.

Cheers,
Ian

A location from you might help him answer your question.....:duh

david777 ·

Thanks Ian,

Rexy can have the regulators -a bargain at that price.

I'd be interested to know what you used for your electric windows!

$50 for the drums, brakes, the works. Factor in that you will need new drums and shoes if you want it to be safe and legal. They arent light, so up to $80 if its going as far as Victoria.

Ballpark guess would be about $25 for parcel post because of the size of the box involved. Call it $75 delivered.

This is the power window kit that I am using.. or at least its simular. Works really well with single piece window kits.

Shipped wheel bolts and IDF throttle bodies today. The window regulators ship tomorrow, payment received.

Still left over is:

IDF style manifolds with injectors bosses
4 x 380cc low impedance injectors
Billet alloy fuel rails to suit above
Stainless steel turbo header with dump pipe
Type 3 rear brake upgrade (1966 and earlier short axel) type 1's with 5x130 porsche 5 stud bolt pattern.

Cheers,
Ian

G'day Ian, I haven't forgotten about the injectors (but if someone wants to grab them before me, feel free to let them take them whilst I dilly-dally about)....I just want to do a little more research before I lay down the cashola if that's cool. How much extra for the fuel rails?

Thanks mate
Alan

2443TT ·

Hi Alan,

I'd prefer to sell the injector rails with the manifolds because the manifolds are modified to make the rails bolt on intead of clip on like CB made them.

Injectors are still available.

Rexy (aka Steve), Let me know your last name so I can address the regulators to you properly.

Cheers,
Ian

How much are you after for the intakes and rails?

I guess the bolts were just the right length then. Good to hear.

Hi Craig,

Still havnt received your money... hope you put it in the right account.. Its probably just westpac being slow though...

Rexy, Sent your regulators today by registered mail. They would have left sooner but i've been flat out with work.

dumone, the brakes and all the bits weigh in at about 18-20kg. Ive just noticed that one of the brake shoe retaining pins is missing the little dished bit that locks onto the pin, everything else is there tho.

Cheers,
Ian

Still have some parts left over:

Manifolds and fuel rails - $120 AUD + freight.

380cc Injectors - $240

Stainless steel turbo header with dump pipe - $650

Type 3 rear brake upgrade (1966 and earlier short axel) type 1's with 5x130 porsche 5 stud bolt pattern. - $50

Cheers,
Ian

type3lover ·

Hi Ian,
Can you let me know your best possible price for the injectors, manifolds + fuel rails, and headers as a package for cash immediately (U2U is fine). I wish you took credit cards hehe.
Seriously interested though...

type3lover ·

Still for sale?

2443TT ·

Yeah what you are after is still available... although Craig put down first dibs on the manifolds and injector rails i'm yet to see any dollars hit my account.

I'll do the injectors, manifolds + rails and the stainless turbo header and dump pipe for $1000 delivered (i'll pay freight).

I hope you read the info about the header properly. It was made for a wider than stock engine, so to fit another engine you will need to cut and re-weld the pipe from the number 1 cylinder, which is easy to do and best done with the header bolted to the engine and the enging OUT of the car.

Also because the entire header is wrapped in header tape you will need to soak it with water so it doesnt come off in pieces, and even then it might still come apart when unwrapped. If your genuinely interested I'll take more pics of it.

Cheers,
Ian

type3lover ·

Thanks for the offer but after a lot of thought I'm going to pass on the header and other bits - as nice as it does look and as tempting it is!
Unfortunately I have other priorities on my project that are more pressing.
Sorry to have wasted your time.
Cheers, Toby
