From my limited experience the fuel gauge is fairly reliable in the later T2s. Are you having a problem with fuel level readings? If so it may be your fuel sender?

yeah its usually the sender unit in late bays good fun getting them out so its better to cut the rear floor area to make an access panel

Iam positive that I have a faulty fuel gauge as everything checks out ok .
Does anybody out there in kombiland have one. Late bay black gauges.

Thanks Trevor//

i'll have a look i think that there is 1 or 2 in the shed get back to ya tuesday

easy way to check the gauge is to remove the brown wire from back of the gauge and refit another wire long enough to attach to a ground or earth point on the car, turn the ignition on and if the indicator moves to the full position the gauge is OK and the sender unit is buggared

Do this before you go removing the engine to replace the sender unit in the tank

as per above cuting an access hole is much easier than removing the engine to replace the sender unit
