6V Beetle shocks - what are you running?

https://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/threads/64506/6v-beetle-shocks-what-are-you-running

Nevada51 ·

I'm looking for ideas on what shocks to run on a 6V beetle - what brands have you tried? Good/Bad experience? Gas/Oil? Pedders?? Any feedback would be appreciated.

none on the front. damn beam is too narrow.

KYB work well

Thanks vw54, I'll check them out.

vwtyp2: I plan on running a 4 inch narrowed beam....but with shocks 👍

Don't run gas shocks on the front...
they are too hard....
always use oil shocks on the front...

You can use gas or oil on the rear...
I prefer to use heavy duty oil shocks on the rear...

COFAP - Monroe - are OK...

I had some New Pedders comfort gas on the front of My 68 beetle and they were hard as...

measure what size you need and look on ebay...

I have some shocks with Toyoto stamped in them..

cheers

I wanted BOGE for my oval cause thats what the factory fitted OEM. I got SACH cause they are more readily available and they are made in germany so its all good.

Where did you et the Sach shocks from, how is the ride firm or hard?

BUGBOY ·

I have always found gas shock hard and have used oil shocks on daily drivers.
