Hi All

I have a dilemma with my VW. The half moon seals are leaking oil ... VW 'Apparently' have a special tool that can fix these seals without taking the cams/timing belt/the world off ...

So are there any VW mechanics that can verify this ?? Or does it really have to be done the hard way ??

Its going to cost a lot of money to fix it this way ... so my other option is to sell it.

It also needs a rear main seal done and the ABS pump

Its the 4WD version with H&R Coil over adjustable springs.

How much would this be worth on the market ?????

Also does anyone know where the computer outlet (where I can plug the computer in to check the ECU). I checked all over the cabin and could not find it ?????

Does anyone else know of any common problems with these cars ??

check this website, it's a great Passat info source. I have more luck with the Google search at the bottom of it's page instead of the forum search feature.

Yeah, its a purple plug, if it is under the handbrake lever, you will see a engine diagnostic picture moulded into the trim that is covering the OBD plug.....if not, its most likely under the drivers side dash.
