another wasted oval

was looking at this choptop on ebay i noticed the W decklid but didnt even click till i saw the dash it was actually an oval
i used to cringe when i saw big window semaphore bugs hacked up but this one takes the cake

It entirely depends when it was done, ovals weren't worth a bucket of goat shit in the 70's.
I found an oval on a farm years ago that was cut down to a baja, (not a hint of fibreglass mind you). Guy showed me a feature that had been done on it in an old magazine.

But old cars are old cars. Oval beetles weren't always collectable.
As I've said many times over the course of this forum, there was a time you couldn't give away a split kombi. Even wreckers wouldn't take them.

We rebuilt a mates EH in the late 70's with parts scavenged off dumped cars in the bush around Newcastle. Then, a few years back, they were pulling big money.

This is what I mean when I say when a car is modified is relevant.
