Geez where's all the 'popular' subie conversion vehicles??? 😀😀
Fantastic turnout Craig, Job well done 1:beer
hypo-vw ·
Well done Mr Editor , that is the most impressive line-up of performance VW's that I have ever seen in Australia .:thumb
VWMA Editor ·
Additional drivers and cars now added. Still three to include on race day.
Dasdubber ·
I can't wait - great field of cars/drivers Craig....lets hope the weather is good!
Grey 57 ·
Some interesting ones in there.
Rusty 1957 Renault Dauphine 1600cc Aircooled Type 1

Boostn ·
Good stuff guys.

OZ Towdster ·
Looks like i better pack plenty of Type 1 parts if i want to win the Sportsmans Trophy again 😂😂
Turbo54 ·
2275 ascort, now we are talking!
T54
dangerous ·
Must be the best turnout in history.
Not many 1915's though.:kiss
vassy66T1 ·
That is one fantastic collection of hot VW's ... I am so looking forward to the weekend.
Best of luck to everyone having a go! :thumb
dangerous ·
If the feeling out there is common amongst the VW scene,
Craig I think you would be quite chuffed to know
that I have had people visiting and ringing me ,
all very stoked and hyped up about this event.
There is an excited and nervous air of anticipation about this event that I have never seen.
Bring it on!!!

Now what does this mean craig?!
Are there some new exciting debut-cars that are under wraps?
vw54 ·
I wish we had a Drag Track in Sydney
VWMA Editor ·
No, not under wraps, just forgot to check the calendar when the 14th September deadline came around. I'm forgiving - it will only cost them my refreshment bill for the weekend.

What WSID to far for you ya old goat
Stanley ·
What about the turbo'd car from Mick Motors I think. It was in the latest addition of the mag. Is it coming? Didn't notice it on the list.
go the forced induction....and NA for that matter...solidarity

No he's not bringing it out as they reacon they have no good tyres , bloody sooks
fullnoise ·
This weekend will be a massive VW fix, if not an overdose.
Coming down from it next week will be difficult.
I'm hitting the F3 from Sydney at about 11 tomorrow. That's nothing though, Adam Debasi is driving from Adelaide again!
CYA there CT
Turbo54 ·
I believe there is a few Adelaide people coming up for the event.

That's no excuse,
I have some slicks they can use!
It is not a sook if they are afraid? (...yeah it is!:kiss)
Actually it is a shame to 'not run' when the car is sitting there and they have had plenty of time to prepare.
Being afraid is OK, but Warwick would have been the perfect atmosphere to have a first time shot.
Fear is a good sign that they respect the power and unknown.
I will be surpised if we ever see the car run.
Unless of course they plan a big entrance.
Dasdubber ·
I haven't kept up with the progress, but I gather Keith H (from Picton) won't be racing? I couldn't remember if the Nitrous engine was originally being built for warwick or not.
Can't wait!

RESPECT
what a drive????
Keith Haeusler ·
Das,
I didn`t finish the car in time unfortunately. But there is always next year!
And ditto Boost`n with the RESPECT for the Adelaide guys/girls making the trip.
Cheers, Keith.
Dasdubber ·
From what I gather it will just keep growing each year - there are people such as yourself, Nick (boostn), Nick (bond), Alan Herbert (063bug), Troy (lifeinthelowlane's brother), and others who should all be starters next year.
Fingers crossed mine will be done! Just starting to bolt on fanshroud etc now so I'll hopefully fire it up tomorrow if there are no major dramas - nothing like a last minute rush!
Turbo54 ·
Next Year 😉
T54
Stanley ·
I can remember saying that last year.
Now i'm like a kid a few days out from christmas. A year is a long time
drando ·
Cant wait to meet you all.
should be a great weekend.
vw54 ·
WSID hire 4 one day = $28K
Menangler ·
Dave you are right, WSID is a joke, I hate going there, it's just too fancy, and too expensive for us "normal" drag racers, Bring on Warwick, :thumb
I'm leaving in about 1/2 an hour.
Stanley ·
a safe journey to all travelling to Warwick
OZ Towdster ·
vw54 wrote:WSID hire 4 one day = $28K
If you were to get some good sponsers and at least 50 entrys although it would only be for one day the 28 k fee isn't that hard to acheive or even mabey share it with a Porche club or similar to boost the numbers and share the orginising
What about where you used to run the drags for the nationals ??
VWMA Editor ·
50 entrants and good sponsors doesn't even come close to half of $28,000 - if it wasn't for the good people at Warwick Dragway and some concessions made to expenses, then Warwick wouldn't happen either. This racing business ain't half expensive!

Ha Ha Ha

Nothing worse than grunty VW 4 speed when your nervous!
"I better not bog it, I better not bog it........SHIT I bogged it
All the best people, have fun at Warwick and safe driving.

It is a bloody auto !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boostn ·
A Westwood wrote:It is a bloody auto !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's why I said give me an auto any day.
And why it would be perfect to take it to Warwick, no gears to stress over.....get it??????????????????????
OZ Towdster ·
Sorry dood am a little slow today
Boostn ·
All good !

"What about the turbo'd car from Mick Motors I think. It was in the latest addition of the mag. Is it coming? Didn't notice it on the list."
why go to the trouble of importing a built and tested car to not run at the biggest vw drag event in australia?
maybe rohan/rowan can explain?

We are still going to take my brother's car to warwick even though it isn't running. Gave it a good clean up last night so everyone can have a peep at what Troy and I have been up to lately.
After that we went to Dak A tak's and help Pete on his Yellow car while Troy put some finishing touches on a temporary engine into the Chop top. I left just after midnight as I had to work today so not sure how long they worked after I left but Pete did say the night before was 3.30ish to bed!!!! But the yellow car is certainly looking the goods for sure!!
as for Mick Motors and their car i drive past everyday and there it sits in the shed covered in a heavy layer of bull dust with no cover over it or the engine.
Shame to see a car like that not competiting. It could be some very good advertising for their business if they got it out and just had a go......
See you all at Warwick!!! Myself, Troy, Pete and Rod Richardson are pitted in the big white marquee just down from the tower. Come and say hi!!

Just to let people know I was talking to Aaron Roberts with the black Kombi
and other than the 6-speed 996 tranny,
he has an extra 130 hp than last year(INSANE).
That, I think is over 530hp at the wheels.
Can you say "10 second Kombi!!!"
