Aaron's Black Kombi ran in the 7.30's at nearly 100mph.
Boostn ·
cool guys.
bring on the pics and info.
how did the turbo cars go?
Adam,Wayne?
did they stop at the end of the track?
dangerous ·
Both Adam and Wayne were in the quick 8.
Not sure where the times were.
I know that Wayne did run 6.75@109.75!!,
to be the second fastest VW on the day.
I am not sure about Adam in the beautiful oval.
Both cars looked supoib and were kicking arse.
Other quick 8 members were:
me @7.21 N/A,
Wally now 2275 turbo, in the 6's I think
Rod Penrose 6.76 N/A
Fabians Inch pincher ran 7.6
Mike Waldron went 6.4@114
and Lachlan Smith(not sure what Lochy ran).
What player do I need for this Vid?
I can a ea see him.
quick time player

the WPVW turbo oval ran 6.75 @109.75mph . This made us the second quickest VW at the event . Mike Waldron in the LMS turbo bug was the quickest with 6.4 @114mph .

Who's got the overall results for the various categories?
Turbo54 ·
Anyone know what the SA Cars ran, Debiasi Oval, Dave O Connor Red beetle ercos?
T54
dangerous ·
I know that Aaron won in the class he was running in the 20B Kombi over the P76 powered bug who broke out.
Wally won in Quick 8 over Fabian in the Aussie Inch Pincher who cut a better light but broke out.
Craig Brown(Crankshaft Engineering) beat Gunter(Volks-Mod) in the buggies.
Leigh Harris won his class in George Gershos' bug.
I think Dave Sidery had a win or runner up at his first drags also.
Perhaps some other people can fill in the spaces.
Not sure how Doc went, but car looks supoib, as does Adams car.
I did see Adams car run in the 7.80's but not sure of what his best numbers were,
or how much faster than this he went.
This is all from memory so please correct me if I am wrong.

my car went well with no real problems although very laggy in first and second gear due to running low boost and way to short first and second gears(std 1800 kombi)it still ran 7.5@92, whiich is as quick as my green car but the oval way slowwer inthe 60 ft
but had agreat time and was good to drive it for the first time, also does great 3rd gear burnouts!!!!

Looks like you were having a ball Adam. (especially in the burnout!)
It was nice to meet you again and chat.
Your workmanship on that car is superb,
and to get such a good result first time out is a credit to you.
LIFE IN THE LOW LANE ·
Total respect to you Adam and David and of course crew for driving all the way to Warwick from SA.
Your cars are immaculate and is great to chat to you both about all things VW. As I said on Sunday we are only too happy to help out for next year with organising stuff for Warwick for you guys.
Cheers Brennden

Cheers for the link

Thanks for the video link Rose.
We should call that Vid : "Wayne's Weiny Roaster".
Has anyone got Video or Aarons first round racing his Dad in the Camper?
dangerous ·
I think by the time Wayne realized his visor was shut
he had run out of breaths to put the fire out!
Gotta laugh also,
how many 'Waynes' there are doing burnouts on YouTube!

hellbugged ·
did you get the vid of Aaron (on the previous page) going Dave?..........it's a good run against the camper
Thanks Daimo,
That will be a great help.
Someone said "quicktime" but I was to shy to ask what brand it was.
Looking forward to the vid!

Who won the burnout comp? Were there many casualties?
LIFE IN THE LOW LANE ·
Wayne Penrose put on a great display in his hillclimb car!!! Heaps of smoke and sounded awesome. Team China had a go with the Squareback but had more smoke off the clutch than the wheels. they then bought out the Passat and it was smoking up one front wheel but the circles were getting wider and wider so he decided to have a go in reverse. Bad Idea!! barely got moving and literally spat a CV all over the track!! gordon in his toyota powered off roader put on a good display with plenty of circle work and a total lack of front end grip with the car spinning rather crazy. He then stalled so marshalls push staretd him and he started going crazy before any of them got off the track. Should have seen them run LOL Anyway Gordon I heard ended up doing some engine damage to the toyota with it sounding like the big ends were goone. Terrible shame that happened but atfer the burnouts and all those wheelstands it's not surprising with the punishment he gave it all weekend.
VWMA Editor ·
Rat Drag Bug! Fun car. Next year I'll sort the axle hop with some rear suspension mods. Have I mentioned already 8.460@81.23mph?
11CAB ·
Gordon is rebuilding the engine to return to Warwick in two weeks for the drags again.

Is he going to rebuild the front end as well???? It looks like it could need some TLC LOL

He's heading back for some more big wheelstands for the non VW crowd......

Who would drag race without a Fire Extinguisher???
I won't even drive a car without a fire extinguisher...
All Rally cars have had to have a fire extinguisher since the 70s...
