Menangler ·

I am selling 3 engines for a friend, they are fresh rebuilds, and are just up to tappet covers, no tinware.

1st one is a 1600 twin port, Thin stud case all new bearings, new rings on used low mileage pistons and barrels, reco Twin Port heads with new valves. 7.5 to 1 comp. price is $950.00 SOLD

2nd one is a 94 x 74 2054cc, Case is a Rimco USA machined and prepaired "thick back" (EFI) thin stud case, crank and rods are new old stock EMS, counterweighted and balanced, 14lb 8 dowel flywheel, cam is a Berg 296 same as an Engle #100, Piston and barrells are Cima, heads are twin port with a mild port job, and new valves. Comp is set at 8.0 to 1 so will be fine in a Split Kombi or a Beetle with a set of Kadrons. Price is $2,700.00 SOLD

3rd engine is a Type 3 engine case, rare machine in 88mm piston and barrel kit, (these last forever) giving 1688cc stock cam, rebuilt twin port heads, stock flywheel. comp is set at 7.8 to 1, this would be great in either a Type 3 or Kombi as it has the rear mount holes in the case. $950.00

Photos are of the 74 x 94 engine (black case)
And the stock 1600.

Hi Dave, interested in the 2054 and the type III cased engine. Have shot you some questions re. the 2054. Forgot to ask though - any details of rockers? (lash caps, was geometry set up etc)?

In terms of the type 3 cased longblock - how much is your friend chasing?

Cheers
Al

bond ·

2054 sounds like a good longblock for a turbo app.... mmmmm

Neither engine would be for me mate 🙂

I have a turbo engine cooking elsewhere though!

66deluxe ·

Dasdubbers turbo engine, yes please. Can't wait to see that.

Menangler ·

Alan, All engines have stock rockers, all have been set up correctly and then rockers and pushrods removed for start up, the valve clearances would need to be redone when every thing is bolted back on.

Price on the Type 3 engine is $950.00
Dave

Cool, thanks for the info Dave, will be in touch soon (in the interim obviously if someone else comes up with the cash before I get back to you then I understand if it is sold to them).

Cheers again
Al

Still avaliable

matberry ·

Good value by the sounds, Dave. Good luck with the sale.

Menangler ·

The 2054 and the 1600 are sold

Still have the Type 3 1679cc with the thick machine in 88mm barrells.

hoodride ·

Hi, is the 2054 likely to be prone to overheating, even with an external oil cooler and what not ?

Also any power estimates, with kadrons...

May be particularly interested...

Cheers

Menangler ·

Sorry the 2054 is sold.

This engine will not over heat if tuned correctly, even with just the stock dog house cooler set up.

Menangler ·

The Type 3 engine s still available, this can also be made to fit a Beetle or Kombi

Wow - why does this stuff come up when I'm poor and why is it always thousands of kilometers away?

Just bought a Square and I'm trying to get it running, but that last engine is making me twitch!!!
