VW front ends

My buggy has an empi coil over shock setup on the front which is utterly useless as they have now caved in the bottom section as the lock they use to keep the adjustment in place bends in and rips a hole in it.

do you really need coil overs ? or just a good pair of shocks as the front fairly sags and bottoms out rather easy but I'm asuming either its becuase the shocks are dead or you need some good coil overs on the front ??

Gas shocks on a buggy would make it a very hard ride...

You need adjusters on the front torsion bars
then you can adjust height plus you can also adjust
the softness or hardness you want
by adjusting one of the adjusters...
then you can fiddle about with them until You get the ride You like....
much better than coil over shocks...
as the torsion bars are already on your car...

unless you can find some good soft gas shocks??
all the ones I've tried were much too hard for my beetle..

I've never used gas shocks on front ends of beetles..

cheers

thanks, I was just looking at those, I'm guessing you just cut a square out around the locking bolt for the torsion bar and install the adjuster and weld their plate inplace of it.

might have to order some of those and chuck a cheep pair of oil or gas shocks on it as its hitting some large bumps 80% of the time and sick of the chassis hitting the ground.
