Thrashing to make Valla.......

Every year we see a new or very fresh VW unveiled at Valla VW Spectacular.............imagine if all the show stoppers from past turned up at once!

soo who else is thrashing to get a new project ready for the 1st of August?

Yep one Type 3 turbo EFi 2350cc. Hopefull by the end of this coming week it will be running!!

My cousin is racing to get his 56 bus running and registered to drive down.(brown one he bought from Luke)

My uncle is giving his dual cab bay a like and a tidy up for Valla too. Also bringing his race car too.

I am going to try and revive my van for the trip. Has sat for over 3 years with blown engine. cousin has donated some parts to fix so engine out strip and quick fix and clean up outside and get brakes working. Will be nice to drive into Valla again in it. Last 2 times have been down in other cars and it just ain't the same as driving your Volksy into the place. Plus people will know I'm there when they see my car there. It's been around for quite some time. This will be the first time in many years of Valla that there will be quite a lot of the family there for the weekend. One uncle, 4 cousins and a brother all bringing 6 odd vehicles. finally got my unlce to come to Valla after an absense since about 1990!!

Damm busy next month or so with organising the Dyno day as well.

Matt I've even managed to get John to come down this year after an absense of almost 20 years. He says he ain't keen but I know he is when I hear that he actually giving his ol girl a bit of clean up!!

I always use any VW event that I go to as reason to do a few extra things. On my daily 1303 I've,
made light bracket for some driving lights, cant have too much light when you get old
fitted another gearbox from a low mileage 75 L bug that I wrecked, coincidently the owner lived at Brighton Beach and only ever drove the car to Nambucca Heads to visit relos, guess that's why it rusted
re packed & rotated CVs
fitted early model bellhousing mountings and a berg style front mount

Still to do,
fit a new digiatl speedo that we can see without ducking down
fit some caster bushes & get an alignment,
fix the left guard rubbing and buy a new tyre
fit a new exhaust that I have.

My sons still on his Ls so I will be letting him drive a lot of the time to get his hours up, hmm 80 kph
