Hi everyone, just had my type 3 squareback serviced and was told that my dual carbies
are needing an over haul (reconditioning), and couldnt be tuned properly untill this is done. Anyone know of a good place to get this done in the sydney region, also how this cost.

thanks

you can try Carburettor Service Company at 240 Parramatta Road BURWOOD NSW 02 9747 4066
Near the Bus Depot

It all depends what is wrong with your carbs - but a full rebuild including rebushing the shafts was about $200 for my 34 Pict. Guessing duals is gonna cost twice that 馃お
This was a take in/out job. They didnt unbolt, refit or retune the car

Excellent and quick work. Carb has never been better.
Highly recommended

wow

thats expensive...

keep asking, someone may be able to do it for You much cheaper

it probably is the shafts that have worn allowing too much air in..

but making up some small bushes and drilling the holes
shouldn't be that difficult for someone with a small lathe
etc..

unless they are using very expensive machinery...

maybe its a set rate at carby shops??

Best of Luck

PS: the carby bushes should have been oiled at every oil change..same as the door hinges, etc..

carby sevices rock, type 3's are cheaper to rebuild due to the seperate throttle plate.s.
they did a freinds car.drive in and out $360.
that was both of ,rebush, kit, back on ,tune and supply and fit fuel reg.that was well over three years ago and the car is still rockin along no prob's.
