Since I can't be arsed joing another forum for fords, and well, you guys are pretty switched on when it comes to all things with 4 wheels.
My girlfriends EF falcon had warped rotors, knackered pads, etc...
We replaced the respective parts with all new items (heavier duty & vented at that) but now have a problem.
Before we did the brakes it had a minor rumble from what sounded like the rear wheel bearing. Over the past couple of days it's amplified to a loud dull roar that fills the cabin.
I figured out that it stops when you eiher a: brake or b: turn right.
It is the same sound as before, however no longer seems as though it's just coming from the rear corner.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,

is it abs or normal braking ,if its normal the handbrake could be to tight as these are inside the disk rotor ,whereas on abs its a part of the caliper ,either that its time for new rear axle bearings..
LIFE IN THE LOW LANE ·
Was going to say axle bearings as well.

My first guess would be bearings. Always make a horrible noise when they fail. Thankfully my workhorse EA falcon has enough volume in the stereo left to drown out the sound of the diff, bearings, and other assorted grinds, thuds and squeaks.
sad thing is my poor undead van still starts and runs better than the falcon. It just can't reach 1/4 of the top speed of the falcon.
Back to the subject. If it is more prominent when turning in one direction it is usually a bearing.
Please someone correct me ifI'm wrong, but in the case of back wheels, the bad bearing is the one on the opposite side of the direction you are turning.
Eg, turning right = more pressure on left back wheel = more noise from bad bearing, and vice versa.
Same thing for the front too really. Had a front one fail on the EA a bit over a year ago quite badly. The mechanic where I was stuck in Melbourne had to cold chisel the old bearing off the stub axle. They had welded together!

Guess the stereo will just get turned up louder from now on 😉
