So far I think Dangerous, Pete Page and Rod Richardson are racing(if all goes to plan).
i'll be there and I imagine Stanley will be there helping dangerous too.
Come and support the Volksies try and snare another round win off the Honda and the newly bolstered Rotary ranks.

Looks like 4 vw 's racing next week ( Dangerous Dave , 48IDA Rod R , Wally Penboss , Peter P )

Looks good mate. should be a good weekend. I spoke to the Alcorn brother's last wednesday at basketball and the red car is in Sydney getting some work done and they were not confident at all of it making an appearance.
dangerous ·
I think the Alcorns are unbeatable to take the championship,
but knowing them, it is just a psych out...hehe ..young fellas!
I am all set.
Car maintenance is done...all sweet for next week end.

good luck guy's.
as per usual the car looks tops pagey.

Pete, Jane came to Orion just to see you and could't find you she said you must be a snob😂😂 I was too busy working on my car😠

Dak-A-Tak ·
Sorry about that ! but had to go home and work on Rods black car . Best part was driving car through car park ,then back of shopping centre to set up . I'm going to Jambo as a test & tune ( start slow )

Hi guys. Alien Motorsport / Motorsport Induction are having a little gathering for the All Motor Class on Satrurday night. See below.
OK , seeing as this will be the best Jamboree ever, and the fact that we have a marquee as well 😂, we thought it would be nice to have a little meet and greet on saturday night for all the guys in the All Motor class. Nothing fancy (no black tie required 😂) Just a little gesture to thank each and everyone for coming along to join the ranks of the greatest racing class in the world ( yeah im biased). It wont be going all night as we all have some business to attend to the following day  now that there are 20 entries ...yes another one I was sms'd last night . We were thinking after the last qualifing runs at 8:30 just turn up and introduce yourself , have a chat meet some of the people you dont know in the class. We may even look into getting some pizza's if you guys want to do that ... Let me know before Friday or even at the track . Who wants in ?
I've just been informed The All Motor sponsor Steve Hellyer will be in attendance with some Castrol goodies to give away. We should all thank Steve for the massive contribution he has made to ensure that OUR class gains the recognition it deserves.
Also it will be advertised all week on Speed FM and all day over the PA at Jamboree. I will add more later as i know more.
LIFE IN THE LOW LANE ·
Love to come but i will be leaving the track earlyish on saturday night as i have already got another invite to dinner that I can't miss!!
sure some of the other boys will attend though!!
LIFE IN THE LOW LANE ·
Wally Penboss is also competiting this weekend. He has new engine 2276cc(Looking at Dangerous to correct me lol), T60 garrett and CES have done him some snazzy new pipes. Once he gets used to the extra power the car should be very quick indeed and in fact may run into the 9's if Neil gets it all together. Car is going to dyno this week sometime so as soon as I hear some figures I'll post em up.
dangerous ·
Actually even wally is not sure of the engine size , since I think the crank is an 84?
It should run nines with 3 cylinders running.
1570 lbs car with driver from memory.

well he thinks it could be 2276 and i thought someone said Rod told them it was 2332 so who knows.
car made 277hp and needs more fuel. comes on boost very early and has a huge increase in torque over old motor so I was told. Would definately make over 300 with bigger injectors and retune. car is tuned with what it has for now and will run on the weekend.
we'll see what happens.......

Shaping up to be a good weekend (touch wood) compared to last years shit fight.

I was invited to this... but couldn't go cause i was working at autobarn 🙁 sigh...
dangerous ·
Logging on at Mum and Dads place in the (Freezing cold!) Lockyer Valley.
Busy day for me , but I will get to that soon.
Pete ran an 11.7something at 114 which was good to finally see the car going down the 1/4
in what seems like years.
1445 lbs with driver will mean it will be a fast car with just about ANY engine(take your eyes off mine Pagey!!)
Rod Richo, ran a best of 12.19 at 1709lbs and awesome 1.54 sixty foot, leaving at 6600rpm.
New billet intermediate housing working awesome.(lower gears helping too)
Not sure what Wally ran but a big wheely in the burnout(at least a foot!) was talk of the pits.
My day?
Could have been better, but the end result was a relieved 11.31@117.59mph ...1780lb fat bastard.
in a one shot last chance near the end of the day.
First session, after the burnout,
the spacer I had fitted on the throw-out ring, decided to part company after 17 years of trouble free service.
Thinking my weekend was over, my trusty crew chief, Stanley, offered the services of his home workshop
and tig welder to make it one piece again.
Engine out, wheels and mud guards off, we got it welded, and back to the track
and had it altogether just before the last qualifying session.(phew!)
Still some problems with the shift coupling, but good enough to run the 11.31.
Enough from me, looking forward to more fun tomorrow!

Dangerous wins final with 11.79!!!!! hard on the brakes so he didn't break out. Was no 2 qualifier. First round of racing the "muffin man" was at his best dialing in at 11.29 and running 11.30 from memory. Dave you will correct me if I'm wrong for sure!!
Rod Richardson broke out first round running 12.28 on 12.30 dial in. Did run 12.19 last round of qualifying.
Pete Page didn't race eliminations as the yellow car has some issues with clutch slipping and didn't want to risk making it worse. Did manage to run 11.79 @114mph in 2nd round of qualifying. Car runs so straight and gets out of the hole better than just about any I've seen. Looks absolutely awesome on the track and heaps of really positive comments about the car and it's presentation.
Wally Penboss has some fuel issues and some other minor problems so prolly didn't run as fast as he would have liked. But man does it wheel stand coming off the line as you would have seen by Sides' video. He made 2nd or 3rd round of racing before being eliminated. Dialed in at an 11 something and last 2 runs would have been easily into the 10's but Wally was hard on the brakes so he didn't break out. Car has shown it has got a lot of potential that's for sure.
Was the biggest field of all motor car I have seen and after the first round there were a few missing cars due to breakages etc etc. Dominated by Honda's and Rotaries it's good to see the Volksy's coming out on top.
matberry ·
Dangerous just won ALL MOTOR

Nah Aaron didn'r run at Jambo. He is currently doing a fair bit of work on the Kombi getting it ready in time for Warwick.
Corey North was on hand the whole weekend taking pics of the Volksy's and whatever else took his fancy. Like VL's blowing the bonnet off and doing massive wheelstands!!
Just got to take a peek at some pics and they look really really good. He hopes to have them all sorted and on his website tomorrow. Some will be posted here in this thread too.
Dasdubber ·
Congratulations Dave, that is great news on the win!
Sorry to hear you broke out Rod, the chop top looked awesome on the track yesterday....as did Pete's of course. I didn't get to see Wally run however hopefully his minor issues are sorted out soon - looking forward to seeing all you guys run at warwick!

11.734@87.94mph 1.538 sixty foot time and 7.077@96.53mph on the 1/8 mile.(backed off)
The last two runs I was leaving the start line at 8400 rpm.
Also, after this win I was lucky enough to over take Jason Alcorn
to finish the season second in the All Motor points series for the year.
Thanks to Stanley for being number one crew guy,
and also to Pagey, Rod, Macca, Corey, Lachlan, Aaron, Colin, Troy, Brennden,Tom, Dave S,

The runner up was for the Australian Championship.

Also well done to all you blokes who competed and especially Dave as my eldest son went to Jamboree has returned just going on about how good the VWs were and now just keeps picking my brains about everything VW. He went a ricer and returned a VW fanatic. The prodigal son sort of thing👍
grumpy rooster ·
Congrats to everyone who competed, especially in All Motor, and to Dave Butler for winning the event. The VW's looked awesome out on the track and never fail to deliver with both performance and presentation.
People talk about how fast Sam's car is and a few other 20B's breaking into the class but nothing beats consistency in a DYO bracket. And that is something you guys have in spades.
I look forward to hopefully seeing you guys down in Sydney next year.
(I was with the RX3 sports sedan which red lit AND broke out by 0.002sec in the first round)

15 cars turned up for first round of racing ,19 entered event I think that has be the biggest ever ! Great work to all entry's .
I'm burnt out and sick again after a huge week-end so I'm a little slow with updates .
Dave ! Good one buddy ! for the win .Sydney boys thanks for flying up and helping us qld racers over weekend (Smith Bro's )
Rod did well driving black car but broke out first round by .015 ,very good race .His best et was 12.19et at 108.02mph.
He had to grudge runs on sunday afternoon with no wheelie bars , 1st run 6000rpm start but car bog (track was so sticky) then next run he tryed 7000rpm no bog but carried wheels nice for a power wheelie .
My car , well it was good to be there driving my own car . Good to get a 11.76 et at 114mph but that was it ,clutch just would not lock up .
Things to fix ,clutch ,front to stiff, brakes ( peddle rock hard),motor maintance , befor Warwick
Weight of car 1255 LBs without me ( 559 kilo) and 1445LBs with driver (655 kilo) SWEET !! BRAD ???????????????????.

Which, if any, of the guys in All Motor ran PB's? And if so, what were the details?
LIFE IN THE LOW LANE ·
Don't think anyone ran Pb's on the weekend. Pete's 11.70 something run is the quickest he has run in the car since it has been rebuilt. Rod in the black bug run a 12.19 but not sure if that is the fastest time he has run in that car.
oldskl60 ·
Definitely a great showing from all VW racers!
Damn spectactular to see dave run back to back 11.30s or 11.29 dials... then take the final and the loot!! Congrats Dave
Have slapped a vid together to get the ball rolling, hopefully someone will be able to fill in the bit I miss or taped over🙁. Disappointingly I taped over (after viewing and not fastforwarding back to the end of the tape) Rod's first run without wheelie bars. It was a cool clip as it was pointing into the sun creating silhouette of the a massive wheelie - looked pure Berg! Sorry Rod, looks like you will just have to do it again!!
Also missed all of Neal's runs and Dave's final (as all good cameras do, my battery ran out 2 seconds into the burnout)
last 30 seconds is for Macca...
