If im correct Portland Drags will be on again next year.. well i sure hope it will.

anyway just a quick heads up.. because portland being portland.. accomodation is sometime hard to get close to certain dates.. We have a holiday rental house here, fully furnished that will sleep atleast 7 people with 2 queens and 3 singles.. so if anyone has decided already to come and is after some accomodation utilising a fellow dub fan, then give us a yell.. prices vary depending on how long you stay.. lot cheaper the longer you do.. very resonable pricing though.

Yes, VW Portland has been confirmed for the weekend of February 21st-22nd 2009. Although I'm concentrating on VW Warwick in October this year first, here are some early details about the Portland event.

As the Portland City Council has now restricted the drag club to only six weekend race meets per calendar year, VW Portland has had some exciting changes to the programme:

• Friday night street drags - under lights, VWs will be able to compete against each other and the local Portland drag racers

• Saturday - following the street parade in the morning, the afternoon programme consists of VW practice and qualifying, as well as the chance to earn some early weekend dollars by competing in an open meet with other drag cars from Victoria

• Sunday - all Volkswagen racing, with an additional 2 hours practice in the morning, followed by a 4 round Round Robin Comp. Prize money and trophies on offer

Now back to organising VW Warwick....

weekend sounds absolutely awesome! much better set up than last time i say.. to be honest most people were bagging the shit outa the dubs when they heard they were dragging.. this hopefully will open a few more eyes..

anyway gimme a hoi if ya need some accomodation or info.

Layout sounds awesome, just have to hope for better weather in '09.

Hoping to have a car there this year too rather than just watching.

they probably shoulda held it in January.. bit hotter then.
