Have had a pair of 36IDF's that I bought off here a while ago but now thinking I might go bigger on the motor and need some bigger carbs. I never ran these 36's but I believe they are jetted for a 1600.
Anyone out there have a pair of 44IDF's and wanting to downsize?? Carbs only. Not sure of $ but if you're interested let me know and we can talk.
Cheers

I used to run 44idfs, great carb, what size motor are you putting them on?

It will be a 2110 blow through turbo so they will be modified to suit

I could be wrong, but as far as I have been lead to believe converting webers for turbo blow though use is much harder then converting dellortos (I don’t think they have shaft seals) well at least that’s what cbs turbomaina book says however its a few years old now and may be out of date they also say that 40s are better suited for everyday use then the larger 45 and 48 dells, I am probably going to run a set of 40s using their dellorto update kit on my 2165 to start with and if they are a little small I will upgrade to 45s or 48s down the track.

Yeah throttle shaft seals are meant to be the main difference. Apart from that I think they both need turbo emulsion tubes and mod rings instead of velocity stacks.
I was thinking Dellortos but was told the other day that jets etc for them are a pain in the backside and Weber stuff is much more common.
If you know of any sets of either brand lying around let me know though, prob need 45's if Dellortos though as I want them to flow enough for the top end.
Everyday use is not an issue for me it will only be an occasional driver to events etc plus blasting down the track at Portland.

I think there is a set of 48 dells on ebay at the moment and they are pretty cheep atm 😏
I am pretty sure getting jets etc wouldnt be that hard a lot of euro cars run dells (I know Alfa GTV 2.0s come stock with 40s)
What are you doing for you header etc I was thinking of just getting everything like the header and pipeing from CB however I hear their shipping prices are pretty stupid.

That sounds like a good motor post some pics as you build it 😎

HGFS i have sent you a PM. Also from memory i remember an article in VW Trends about CB selling webbers with shaft seals installed for turbo use, i had a look at their online catalogue but couldn't find anything.
