Been looking at an LSD diff for a 2ltr 091 kombi box. Its the peloquins model made in the USA, http://www.peloquins.com/products.html.

I think a few other forum member may be interested, so thought we could possibly organise a group buy, maybe get a discount on the product and of course save on the shipping costs.

Here is a quote from an equiry I received

Hi Andrew …Thanks for your e-mail. We sell a full line of standard and high performance VW transmission parts, tools as well as completely rebuilt VW transmissions. Regardless of what kind of surface you plan to operate on, a limited slip differential continues to be the gold standard for efficient delivery of power to the ground. It will even work with steering brakes. It will fit all 002, 091, and Vanagon transaxles (002 requires conversion kit for $150.00). It is made in the USA of the finest materials and comes complete with bearings and bolt kit. With no clutch pack to wear out, the company is extremely confident in their products and says: "You break it, we'll replace it!" If you want to build the ultimate 091 performance VW transaxle with the latest in planetary gear based limited slip differential technology, order LE 111. Cost $1275.00 US.
I'm thinking if anyone else is interested, we arrange to all pay the supplier seperately, but get the batch shipped to the one address and distributed locally.

Thanks, Andrew.

ratbug ·

Hi Grogy, nah the 1275 would have been US, but was a few months back. i think thats the rrp, when and where did you get $1150 from?
Adam, how much did shipping cost you for one, I havnt looked into this yet, except I was thinking of getting a whole rebuilt gearbox c/w the diff, but that was $600us for shipping. So decided to just get the irs diff and get and old box rebuilt somehwhere a bit mroe local.

Regards, Andrew.

hi, the price was from longs, if u real keen i ask em if they do a deal if i get 2, i am not sure on the shipping. 600 to ship a trans is cheap. longs will not ship a trans.

Do the quaife's fit an 091 box? It states its 37T spline, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to gearbox's. From what I gathered a while back, the quaife would fit a 5rib box, however according to peloquins the 5rib and the 091(6rib) are different, so i just assumed the quaife might not have fitted.

I'm keen to try out an lsd, if these quaifes fit and can be had for $1500aud, it sound like another good option. They both appear to be quality units. If you want to enquire about getting 2, that would be great.
