The "moustache", I thought, is from the same year as his car ,ie 63 but from an S model. Its diffent (earlier) than the one I have on my Notch which is from a 65 "S"..vw54 wrote:the bonnet trim is off a later model

Ah well, here goes Steve! What a nice early Notch. Yes, the bonnet strip is from the fully imported S model, 64-65 only. The Australian "Twin S" didn't have any of these things. The bumper overriders are standard on up to 63 models ( all German produced and imported as far as I know) as is no side chrome strips with the higher side parkers than the 64 on imported S models. The 64 on model produced here had the side chrome strips without the side parkers etc. Good to see that the pushbutton switch has survived.Hutcho wrote:The "moustache", I thought, is from the same year as his car ,ie 63 but from an S model.
