68AutoBug 路
but how far did it have to go in the water to reach the ship????
and any fool knows that having the engine lid off will let the water in..... lol
maybe it was cargo??

What cheek. You can't even park you beetle at the bottom of the ocean without someone nicking parts off it!!馃槵馃
matberry 路
Man, the ship's deck has holes rusted through, but the beetle is still there, that's rust protection!
ancientbugger 路
A lot of that would probably polish out with a bit of rubbing馃檪
type3vw 路
would make a perfect rat lol.
Joel 路

This one even has a few goodies left on it.
Sad to see this oval ragtop sitting 100mtrs below the surface but.
eraser 路
with that oval all you need is 2 inflatable rubber dingies put it inside the cabin and inflate, i bet she would still run :P
Sides 路
I love how the wipers were on when it went down - if only Beetle wipers worked better !!!

Is was a pretty common thing of the past overseas to drive or push the cars out onto the frozen lakes towards the end of winter and watch them sink as the ice starts to melt in spring.
grogy 路
a friend tried to drive his manx across the jardin river in flood, thought if he got a fast run, it would skim across. lucky his rope was tied to roll bar so when he had to start swimmin he took rope in mouth n tied his buggy to a tree on the other side. so manxs dont float or his didnt. [made it into overlander mag]

Such a shame to see them down the bottom of the ocean, but wow those photos are cool.
Great finds.
