Has anyone had any experience getting West Coast Metric part no. 141-517A. (item L page 49) It is the wiper switch.

I need the valve for the washers, if it is available as a separate part. I have disassembled mine and checked it, but the primary valve still leaks very slowly (damn 37 year old parts). Anyone have a really nice solution? I will put a switch on the back of the main wiper switch to make an electric washer if I have to, but an original pressure valve washer lasted 36 years, so I am happy to do that again.

Hi,if you can get a copy of clubvw zeitschrift magazine from September 2005 there is a very good article on electric washers

Hi

Or you can go to this link. http://www.clubvw.org.au/how_to_modify_those_windscreen_w.htm

Its the way to go, but just buy a pump and plumb it into the bottom of your existing washer bottle.

Thanks Steve, absolute gold. It is exactly what I was looking for. I will be looking for the Kombi washer article next for the stalk mounted valve/ switch.

Hi

No worries, its much the same process for a stalk mounted switch.
