Hi all!

As I mention in my other thread, I'm having some issues with my fuel system. I reckon I might need to stump up and buy an aftermarket electric fuel pump for my car - a 1600 AD type engine.

I'd MASSIVELY appreciate any suggestions about a good fuel pump that I can use. I haven't been able to track info down on the net and would like to purchase one ASAP as the car is now undriveable.

Thanks heaps. Reason I'm looking for an aftermarket electric one is because that's what is in there now and it has lasted fairly well until now.

Thanks Barls! For what it's worth, the fuelmiser fpm064 was what supercheap (gak!) recomended too. They wanted $155.90 for it - but a 7 day wait. I'll give my local repco a call.

EDIT: Repco wants $255 for the same part. Hmmm. . .

Any other suggestions from anyone?

Tell Repco it is available from Supercheap for that price, and see if they will match it. There is Recommended Retail Price and there is Trade Price.

Thanks Helbus! Yeah - I did try that, but they'd only go to $220. Reason being they claim to only match stuff that the other store has in stock, rather than need to order in. Repco, for those who are interested does stock these standard.

Anyway, that's confirmed that the above quoted number is the correct one if ordering a replacement. Will take up to 1800cc engine apparently.

In the end I've spent a hour or two pulling out my old pump and refurbishing it. There were some connectors inside that looked dodgy. It is probaby 20 years old or so (brand and make unknown). After resoldering the connections and giving everything a good clean it's now giving me the correct pressure and flow so it looks like I won't need another one after all. Phew! Still hopefully this thread may be useful to someone searching the archives in future.

There are currently pics of the fuelmiser up at: http://www.derek.com.au/fuelpump.html

Thanks all!

You could always install an electric low pressure fuel pump, and block off the fuel pump on the block.
