I'm not in Queensland but these days You need to have a rusted out structural part of the car...

rust hole in a door etc doesn't usually count...

surface rust shouldn't make any difference...

Primer - ?? maybe thats why they paint them flat black??

I'm sure someone on here in Queensland can tell you for sure..

cheers

as far as i know there must be no structural rust, i did hear a story once about multiple colors frowned upon but not sure of that one

well it's just that anything that could cause an accident to others and ones self will get black tick as for paint its not adding to the safty its ok a car covered with surfice rust is ok if you can poke a hole with screw driver it not ok. as i said gefore ring your bluslip garage make a booking for a rego check he will tell you what is needed a lot easyer than trying to out guess him

as long as a car is structrally sound and doesnt have any rust holes in it, it doesnt matter a f**K what colour or condition the paint is
the only reason it would be frowned on is it attracts attention to unroadworthy vehicles when they may not be

useless point of interest
vw several times sold factory multicoloured cars

ballyhoo beetles were painted in stripes of every colour paint offered in 72

and the harlequin series started with beetles
they were assembled with panels painted various colours

they also ran a limited number of Mk3 golf harelquins too
there is a register online somwhere
