Hey everyone, i thought there should be a topic for modded bugs only. Like bodywork mods and other things like that. Help me make this one big by posting your pics of your rides up here.
To start this off:
My 72/74 Beetle, as you can tell it has had alot of work done to it. Around where I live (Banora Point, NSW) i se heaps of P platers with their skylines, commodores and WRX's driving around but I never see any VW Beetles. If you see me driving around yell out or something 🙂

well be proud that you own what is probably one of the last remaining slant nose 930 look bugs around
theyre a love it or hate it 80s things as u can see by the replies
i figured u were in the tweed area somewhere as ive seen it around
bet u got solid arm muscles having a sports steering wheel with rims that wide, been there done that 😂

i saw the picture and thought nice cat. it kind of scares me that so many others did similar. i think the car is certainly different. i do like it for what it is and i would be happy to own it. i wouldn't create it either though. I think the waste of a dub comment was uncalled for.
It has alot of nice qualities that people don't seem to have mentioned. The finish on it looks beautiful and the interior is pretty tidy.

Love the interior, obviously a heap of dedication gone into the finish. Found the cat, found the horse, found the chook and after a while and going a bit outside the square (hate that term) found the bird.🤪

A mate of mine had a bug with a similar kit on it in the early 80s. He sold it when he got married, then for years both him and his wife wished they hadn't sold it. Then it came up for sale again in 'Unique Cars', somewhat run down though (and a lot cheaper than they had sold it for), so they bought it back, stripped it down, and re-built it again. He eventually sold it when his marriage broke up. It certainly attracted attention though.

I think it's cool, 'cept for the taillights, individuality at it's creative 80's best, good on ya mate..does need gold pinstiping though. 🙂

Just a another stlye to the vw world that has been done . BOSE music had one didn't they ? Good to see mate that cars or kits with history still around . Imagin this thing with some sought of turbo big cube engine ,then would you own it (kool) I would !

Haha, it did have a turbo a while ago but there were holes in it= mass overheating... Planning to look into the VWRX side for engine.
As for the gold pinstripe, might look into that and see how it feels.

Theres something appealing about it yet its not quite right proportionally.
Can some one photoshop it with a few inches off the roof? I think that would do it!

Good photoshop, looks great like that but i dont have the time to do any work on it. All of my money is going into my bike at the moment.
Anyway its low enough, just driving around town the exhaust scrapes on EVERY speed hump and driveway, it dosnt sound too good when it does.
As for the "waste of dub" comment, i would challenge that. This is my taste in cars, something that when you drive by people just stop what thy are doing and stare (which is what this car does). In my eyes, I dont think its a waste of dub at all.
There was a white kit like mine that was made but on one of my trips to a car show on the Gold Coast (cant remember the name) i saw the kit in pieces. The owner said his daughter totaled the car.
