Some pictures below of the said 69mm scat crank.

is it going to make a difference to your engine build
the Scat cast cranks are quite good these days
but the forged are and would be much stronger

Cast dude.

Thanks Dave B. That is what I thought.
Yes it will make a difference to the build VW54.
I won't trust a cast crank when the engine will regularly see 6500rpm being a hillclimb car.
It will be in the up for sale section soon.
cheers

i think that this is pretty inconclusive. im not the metal expert but from what i know there is only one way to know for sure and its some sort of test that they do i forget the name of it. but i get the impression that it is virtually impossible to tell between modern casting and forging with these sorts of parts. i looked at one of these cranks years ago but was out of my price range. dont need one now though

How much??? 🙂

$100 to you Col Mustard 😎
It is second hand but has only seen 40K in a trike.
Let me know via PM or e-mail
P.S. Is Miss Scarlett still kicking around with Professor Plum ... love your screen name 👍

haha thanks dude.
I cant really afford the crank at the moment... and my mechanic/engine builder has one ready to go on his shelf at home, just needs to be redrilles to 8 dowel, and matched to my lightened flywheel. its already been balanced and everything, so i should proabably pass, even though i don't know how much I'm paying him for that. :$

Thanks for the interest.
This crank is sold and I am now on the look out for a good 74mm forged counterweight crank.
