Type 1 fuel pump block-off... suitable point for oil return ???

Short version : like the subject says - does anyone have any info/experience on running an oil return down through the fuel pump block-off ???

Long version : I'm looking at putting a full flow system on my 1916 - ext cooler, filter, higher capacity pump etc. but also using a filter mount that has a pressure relief valve built-in. Obviously I'll have to run an oil return line from the bypass port back to the engine somewhere... bottom/side of the sump plate is the obvious choice, but I'd rather not have lines running underneath the engine.
That's got me thinking about the fuel pump block-off... but since I don't know exactly what's underneath and what oil flow around there is like thought I'd put the question up.

The engine's assembled (and in the car running), so I've pretty much ruled out any drilling and tapping ideas... at least for the moment... 馃檪

It would work physically, but introduce more foaming due to pouring returning oil straight onto cam and timing gears, no foaming into sump IMO

Right, Ok - hadn't thought of that angle... I'm glad I asked !!!

So having the return come in below the normal oil level... like in the bottom/side of a deep sump... presumably that would prevent it from foaming ???

I use mine for the turbo drain which isn't a huge amount of flow.
Full flow might be a different question as Mat said.

I tried to use it as a breather but too much oil is thrown up there and was blown up the 1/2 inch [12mm] hose
into the air cleaner..

so, I've blocked it off...

OK, so sounds like the fuel pump block-off is a bad idea.

So to rework my thinking a bit, does anyone run a pressure bypass line back to their engine, and if so where have you got it going in ???
