This is a VW 182 Right Hand Drive Thing. Very rare and in absolutly excellent original condition. Engine, transmisson and body work all in excellent condition and rust free. This car had only 2 owners in the last 35years and was always garaged. These vehicles are becoming quite sort after as they stopped manufacturing them in 1978 with production numbers totaling around 90,000. This is a German built model for the domestic market as these were originally designed as a military vehicle. The roof folds back, the windows pullout and the doors unclip and if that isnt enough the windscreen folds down to lock onto the bonnet. parts are cheap as they use your standard beetle bits and body parts are still available new through Germany or the US. These cars will give you more smiles per kilometer than anything else for the buck and while you are enjoying the drive they are appreciating in value. This car has been recently serviced but is without registration but will have a roadworthy certificate. Currently they are selling in the US in this condition from $10,000 US to $15,000 US and then you have all the hassels and costs of getting them here, along with the US models all being LHD. I have included 2 images showing a scratch on the left back bumper and right front guard and that is it.
Price: $ 18,500

it has come to my attention that an earlier post of mine suggested that a strong member of the dub community was ripping others off by buying cars and selling them for a much greater value. This is not my intention. I had made the comment with interest in what had been done to make a car twice the ammount that the current owner had bought it for. As the current owner is a highly reputed restorer and modifier, my interest was solid as we had been talking days earlier about what mod's could be done to that type of vehicle. when he was said to be selling it for twice what he had bought it for, i was sure that there was a reliable reason as this person is known to add value to their cars before sale or otherwise. I have purchased cars from this person previously and have been happy with the condition and price. I will continue to deal with this person as I believe he is straight up and has good shit! Anyone interested in purchasing a vw of any breed will do well to keep this person's no. as I have.

I hope that this is clear and explains the situation well!

ps , still lookin for a 182!

many thanks

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOO my mistake ,I should have asked before i spoke!! i spotted one at Steve by chance it had the same wheels and similar colour but ive been advised by Steve this was imported by him form the U.S its OG colour is orange and looks great and IS NOT Rods!! a case of "mistaken identity" anyway is forsale and $12gs LHD very dry and ready

that thing is awsome!! wrap it up

wiseoldub ·

oh and by the way, my earlier , longer post was incorrectly referring to the current owner of the 181 in question as being the person that doesn't actually own it. many mistakes in this one,

still keen to see all that is out there! got a guy with coin and a need. cheers josh

he has a few no.s and may call a few of you. he likes the look of the white one, just a little tighter in the budget, but its not over yet

lardo ·

I believe the 182 is simply a RHD version of the 181.

I know a genuine RHD 182 in Queensland that the owner is interested in selling. Immaculate condition, complete every nut and bolt restoration, 2300 motor, factory LSD plus more... NOT CHEAP! PM me if you're interested or want more information.
