Wanted - Beetle rear air scoop- For L-BUG

any one got a spare rear air scoop that will fit our L BUG?

Hi

Do you mean one of those scoops that fit around the intake vents below the back window?

If you do, don't bother, they actually inhibit airflow.

Well I'm glad I didn't put one on My beetle Steve...
I have a new one sitting on the shelf...
I thought they would direct air into the vents below the rear window...

I believe the scoops fit ALL beetles...
although they were made for 1968> beetles...

cheers

Hi Lee

When you look at the shape of a Beetle body, the airflow would not be traveling smoothly along the top of the body down the back window and being picked up by the scoop.

The airflow is very turbulent, fitting a scoop reduces the opening of the vents and makes another corner for the airflow to go around.

Umm, I had one on my 1st Beetle, thought it looked cool because all the rallycross bugs had them.
