What Lifters and pushrods to buy?

Howdy all, I have just grabbed a new set of piston and cylinders for my recently machined case. Now i also have new (reconned) heads. Now I need to get some lifters at some push rods, are there any particular brands?

Also do the rocker arms themselves ware out? if so should i get a new set or is there something i haven't thought of?

This is for a stock 1600 Twin port.

BTW: an approx cost would also be good (to figure out what i need to hide from the other half 馃槈 )

Why are you changing the lifters??
Are you changing the cam??

I was told the lifters looked worn, still a stock cam (machined and in good condition)

fair enough

I would look on the CB and ACnet sites for ideas

Normally rocker arms etc are reused in an engine overhaul

My camshaft was renewed when it was done but everything else was used apart from new valves..

Genuine VW rockers etc are much better than aftermarket
as I've heard of a few breakages...

1.2 to one rockers ratio rockers would be good.. [these seem to work great on an engine that isn't revved to 6000rpm etc....]
as they open the valves up a lot more...

but costly, so just reuse the originals... or replace any thing badly worn..

I'm going to replace the rocker adjusters and nuts..
and I have new nuts for the sump plate...

I'm presuming You have replaced the pushrod tubes and seals... I found some black seals and white silicone ones ..
the Brazillian ones even the VW do brasil ones crack....

What's wrong with the original VW stuff?

Well can i buy original Vw stuff?

Thats the thing i am unsure what to ask for, a lot of the sites i have seen products online but they all require the pushrods to be cut (manually) but i have no idea in that area, and same with the lifters. And i tend to work in an area at work where i can seem to get to a phone very easily.

I was wondering if anything has improved upon the stock?

I also got my new pistons and cyls today has anyone had any issues with Australian made hasmotek pistons (http://www.hasmot.com/default.php?inc=categoryproduct&catagoryid=3) seem pretty nice from first looks.

Pushrod wise,
you can use stock originals,
but clean them and check the ends for wear.

Back when I used VW style lifters,
I used Mahle black ones or Febi German.

If you want NEW OLD STOCK, try places like Volksbahn or Vintage.
You may even be able o buy from Volkswagen themselves.

What did the piston kit cost?
Looks like another option for those after stock stuff.
