Never heard of it - but I don't listen to music made since 1990.

I can think of two songs that mention VW Kombis.

1. Alice's Restaurant, by Arlo Guthrie (1967). A long rambling spoken story over a guitar riff, but it mentions a VW several times, as in: "So we took the half a ton of garbage and put it in the back of
a red VW microbus, took shovels and rakes and implements of
destruction and headed on toward the city dump. Well we got there and
there was a big sign and a chain across saying closed on thanksgiving.
We'd never heard of a dump closed on thanksgiving before, and with
tears in our eyes we drove off into the sunset looking for another
place to put the garbage...."

2. Down Under, by Men at Work (1982). From the Business as Usual album. Has the lyrics "Travelling in a fried-out Kombi, on a hippie trail, head full of zombie."

I once wrote and recorded my own song (in 1987) about visiting Coonabarabran in a Kombi to see Halley's Comet, but I have the only copy of that...

Jen, its a pity that link didn't lead to a download site for the mp3's of the songs. 🙁 I would have liked to add them to my collection, my drive isn't full yet!

Col LOL

I was hoping you'd have the VW Bus MP3🙁

So disappointed😉

guys, you're going to have to download kazaa lite, OR someone gimme somewhere public I can upload it. I can email it but it seems most webmail services dont accept large files.

Damn this Kazza Lite I refuse to pay for something that used to be free

Hope they are paying royalties to the musos then

Hmmm, maybe a crack for Kazza??? Even they are hard to get now🙁:o

I downloaded it jsut recently without paying? Hopefully in a few minutes I'll have something worked out

And you're chasing down the fed

You're listening to your favourite music

When your favoutite song sounds

You're stepping out of your VW bus

You're living on hope

You're living on trust

You don't have the answers

But you've got love
