That Ford Galaxy people mover in the top shot is ALMOST a Volkswagen. It shares platform and body shell with the VW Sharan (not sold in Australia, obviously). Both used to be made in VW's Portugal factory but I think Ford has since pulled out of the deal. The VW Sharan continues on - but not looking like Chris' beauty.
Phil, I want you to take off your VW blinkers and tell me that you honestly cant see the ugliness of a Sharan. Dont get me wrong, I know nothing of it ( I dont care), it may be faster than a Veyron, ride like a Phaeton, have the offroad ability of a Touareg, using less fuel than a blumotion polo, but I wont ever own one.

Is that a Hiace or a lobster? How much abuse can a shazza take? I wouldnt want to argue against hiace/hilux reliability or perhaps I should say toughness but a 70's kombi is streets ahead of an 80's hiace in comfort. My mates had ex telstra toyotas and apart from clutches they never missed a beat despite brutal efforts. But I wouldnt own one.
