the adapter that stands up the dog house oil cooler, its got the 3 studs that go into the top of the case.
the 2 studs to the side of the motor towards the barrels (not the one centre one) are too big for the holes. the holes are for a smaller bolt diameter. There is no thread in the holes for the stud, you just use a nut and washer on the other side.
DO i just redrill the 2 holes in the case to fit the larger studs? any tips? is this stuff just random? its got vw logo's pressed in.
BTW:
KOMBI 1600 dog house oil cooler and adapter
TYPE 3 dual carb 1600 case
haha, going into a type 1 bug, doesn't get more mixed than that :P

Chris.
Any help as always is greatly appreciated.

x2
also make sure you got the right seals for it
theres that many different seals for oil coolers its easy to get the wrong ones
theres no greater punch in the face than firing up an engine for the first time only to get oil pissing out from the oil cooler

yep drill out then get the conversion stud to screw into the case , did this conversion not long ago .
you can also get the dipstick conversion plate too , rod penrose had one , or make your own .
you also have to drill and tap out for oil pressure switch .
