to the spring plate notchers amongst us

STIDUB ·

anyone done this with dual spring plates? theoretically if duals were used & then notched it would still be stonger than a factory single plate right?
the other thing is, how much of a drop do you get prior to notching?

also is there any particular reason to go for singles or duals, other than the fact the bolt holes dont line up with each other?

i would say the twin is stronger too, the main reason people go for single is to clear big wheels on off roaders.

Twin and single... IRS & swing axle, different spring plate.

Actually late IRS beetles have a single blade spring plate too.

For large tyres you will want to modify the swingaxle ones,
since they have a shorter tortion bar, which helps with tyre clearance.

In theory the dual blade one is stronger,
but until recently I only ran single blade ones.
