have just rebuilt a 2 litre type 4 motor for a 75 bus, standard pistons ,cr 8:1,1800 heads mild port and polish, scat mild cam, have fitted twin 40dells ,standard ignition, and am bench running it at the moment as the bus is to be restored, don't know what the carbs were jetted for ,but are as follows idle 46,main 118,air 175,e-tube 9164.1 vent 28,was thinking 60 idle 135 main 32 vent as a starting point any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi

There is a good article on aircooled.net about jetting.

Bizarre ·

I have just put 40 Dells on my Type 1 1916
60 idles, 140 mains and 34 vents
Cant remember airs or emulsions - will look

"My" opinion is a 2L needs about that in vents

Mains 4.1ish - 4.2ish times vent size

Webers have idles 1.25 body size
That formulea doesnt worl for Dells

The John Conno;;y article at AC Net http://www.aircooled.net/gnrlsite/resource/articles/jetting.htm
is based on Webers - but VERY good

from what i've read your combination seems the most used ,60 idle 140 main 180 air though maybe the 175's i've got will do will ,34 vents and 9164.2 e tubes, have been running it on the bench and it sounds great, extractors into a 2inch hotdog but way too loud for the road,i see your in sydney, do you know anywhere to get dellorto jets vents etc thanks mike
