Okay imagine giving the throttle a quick sharp blip and it accellerates but then delays before coming back like a noticeable second or two. It is not in the cable or accellerator return spring as I have checked all that and it does it when 'blipping'it manually at the carby.
I have just had the motor out and installed a new clutch and put it back in and now it does this - oh its the 1200 in the Country Buggy if that make a difference with the 28pict carby - I am assuming I have done something wrong but cant see anything obvious.
Anyone have any suggestions

Sounds like the accelerator pump is doing its own thing...

Air leak on intake manifold??

I had an issue where the cable had slipped out of the steel tube behind the fan. the cable then snagged on the fan housing.....

what carby? does it have a stock throttle arm? its not fouling on the mixture screw is it?

Is the throttle shaft worn and binding ? - best remove the carby and check to see if any linkages (including what lee said above with the accelerator pump) are worn or stiff. 😵💫

peter being a 28 has it got one of those stupid internal guide cable springs rather than the later external ones on the throttle arm?
those ones can have problems with binding up

It has the stupid external set up.
I do have a reconditioned 28pict carby that is the same, so if I cant find any binding I will give that a go on the weekend, at the moment the buggy is banished to the corner for misbehaving (I thought that was better then burning it)
I suspect it is in the carby as it was doing it when you manually blip the accelerator at the carby, and if it was the cable, it wouldnt have done it then.. I did see it has developed some weaping of fuel from the carby.
I will let you know
Thanks for the advice.
