There is so much toxic stuff out there.
I am sure that both my brother and I have liver damage - not from a mispent youth ( although at times I did my best) but from some of the chemicals my Dad used on the farm.
Here is a couple:

Insecticides + carbon monoxide - mix it all together in a 35 deg + grain silo and then breath that crap in for a few hours. We did this every harvest for years shovelling the last 10T out of each silo. Not good.

Foot scald in sheep. We used to treat this with neat Formaldahyde applied with a paint brush to each foot. This we did while leaning over the sheep.

I did get a rounded education but I think it came at a cost.
There are so many dangerous things that are done in order to 'get the job done' Terry

Hi Matt,

That's enough to scare you off welding forever! Good advice though - makes you wonder what other surprises are out there for us poor unsuspecting mugs. I suppose it's a case of 'Buyer Beware', but I think a lot of important info. is kept 'secret' - look at asbestos, the warnings came too late for some.

Cheers, Greg

Tht's really scary. I'm glad I read that.

I'm reminded of when I was working for a cleaning company. I used to tell the new cleaners I hired, to never cocktail the cleaning agents and chemicals, especially with chlorine bleach.
Adding chlorine bleach to an otherwise inofensive detergent can turn it into something that will give off really noxious fumes that will damage, sinuses, throats and lungs.

As the writer of the article says. Read the label and be beware.
