I am looking for 36hp VW Hop UP, vintage speed, hi performance parts and or kits that were made in Australia. Examples of these would be the Monaro Motors dual SU carburetor kit.

Or head/manifold kit such as this one:

So if you have some old 36hp high-performance part that you want sell let me know.

Location: USA so you would need to be willing to ship.

Thanks!
Christopher

aint seen those heads before

boonies ·

Yeah neither had i but the guy that has them got em' from Australia. Not sure if it was a one off job or not.

vw54 ·

the heads MUST be a one off for sure aint never seen before
we had Okrasa or Densel and some twin carby set ups by Ken Virgin from Adelaide in South Aussie he made use of a custom mainfold using the stock 36hp solex carbs I have these

We also had Judsons and some genuine twin carby set up from Germany but carnt remember the name ( although i have a set up as well)

any idea of the corodeded brand on the carby set up

the red joining hose on the balance line looks familar and the air cleaners look like Knetch or similar to Okrasa stuff

the steel mainfolds on 2nd pic look like okrasa with the big balance line must ave been heaps of welding on those heads to get the extra port

where r u located

OK re read yr initial post yes the SU carbies I have seen this before but not for 30 years or more

LUFTMEISTER ·

Had a set for sale recently (still waiting for the last $50 promised me😬) also advertised on Samba only had low offers and arse clowns enquiring.

am i thinking mini cooper when i see these lol
the minis tried hard to get in the vw scene power to weight ratio and the cooper S came along

boonies ·

VW54----Yeah the heads and manifolds I have very limited info on. Thought they have two parts they are still single port heads, as they both feed into the same port.

“some twin carby set ups by Ken Virgin from Adelaide in South Aussie he made”
Do you have any pictures of this setup? Did he make a few of these or just your?

LUFTMEISTER---- To bad, I would have made sure you got your last fifty. Just out of curiosity what did you sell them for, if you don’t mind.

boonies ·

---Also out of curiosity is there a vintage speed scene in Australia? Any forums for such a thing around here?---

vw54 ·

your on the main forum

boonies ·

Thanks ill take a look around and see what i can find.

amazeer ·

Do you have an Oz spec beetle you are putting this stuff on or just a collector?

boonies ·

Nope, No Aussie spec beetle. Plan on rebuilding and running them on different engines for the most part, may use some incomplete ones for parts???

Anyone out three have any leads on Monaro motors dual carb kit.
😎

boonies ·

Let's bump this up and see what happens.
👍

boonies ·

Almost done restoring the crusty Monaro dual carb kit you see at the top of this post and now i am looking for another Mornaro dual SU carb kit to start on.

Anyone wana sell one?

vw54 ·

Finding them will B the problem

DylanTheDubber ·

WTF theres 4 tail pipes in the first pic. lol

boonies ·

That is the Lukey muffler, similar to the Abarth as they decreased back pressure and increased HP... a little bit any way. If ya ever find one ill take it off your hands. 🙂

Here's my Swiss Motosacoche supercharger. I have all the parts just not shown. I would love to know or meet anyone else that has one in Oz.
