Would anyone be interested in spending a day at the marulan track, on their site they say they have a skidpan too.
Would people rather do the track or skidpan or both.
Im thinknig about around australia dayish.

yeah im keen to go down for a day. I had a great time when i went down but due to some issues with the linkages tightening causing the throttle to stay open, i only got 3 runs. Skid pan would be a bit of fun but whatever is on, i am keen

Weather maybe a bit to hot for me to flog Ian's bug around the track. Later on in the year would be good when its cooler not so harsh on the air cooled dubs than.

Yeah as soon as Birchall, Boris, Dad and I went down to Marulan we all said "lets organise a club day here." No set date or anything but it is in the works. I have heaps of friends who say they want to get out on to a track but mysteriously chicken out when invited so i can't guarantee numbers lol

For a drive your street car day its a hundred dollars, and twentyfive dollars for the liscense but if you have one then its all good.

Yeah they do a marulan track license for $25 but if you are a member of Club Vee Dub or any other CAMS affiliated club you can get your CAMS license and run at Marulan on that

I reckon you would be better of just joining club vee dub then getting the CAMS license rather than buying a marulan license. It would be a bit more expensive but you could use your CAMS license at any track and you get the club magazine as well

71, if your going to join the club and get a CAMS licence you will need to get your skates on, it takes a while to get papers shuffled back and forth.

Or we could just all go on the day and pay $100 each plus license if dnt already have one.

I spoke to Garry Willmington about a track day at Marulan on the 30th. He tells me that nothing has been booked, however if anyone wants to go, he will do a track day for us - $100 per entry. Please let them know ASAP if you are going by, phoning (02) 48411422. Book in early or you may miss out. I've done so already.

I'm interested, not sure what I'm up to on the 30th.
Marulan is on my run between Thredbo and Sydney so can do stuff on the other sides of that date. Will have to get new rear tyres (I've been sliding a bit lately) and get WPVW to give the rev limiter a new setting and engine a looking over.
I'm interested to see how the new set up will handle a track, it enjoys the bends on the Alpine Way.
Years ago when I looked at a Cams licence I was told coloured blind would limit it to drag and hillclimb. Does anyone know if I can get the track day license...

OK I spoke to Garry today at MDTC, its all go. You will need to book with them and pay on the day.
You can get a MDTC licence for $30 for 12 months, I don't think that they would do a eye test for this.

hey i think i had 10 x 10 minute runs which i think works out to about 100 laps not bad only $1 per lap

No my car is a daily driver runs fine and good fuel for every day
U CARNT have it both ways its either full on drags or circuit or Rally
hey is was heaps of fun to drive the other cars but there BOTh special purpose
Boris was driving miy car and i was following in his pissed myself laughing at my rear end going all over the place hes a good peddler
I HAVE TO DROP my car AT LEAST 1 MORE INCH at the rear
the acceleration in both cars was astouding to say the least especialy with short 2nd n 3rd gears on a tight track makes all the difference
Gregs car had near bald formula Vee 2nd hand tyers on therear but still hung on when hot
Boris car had R6 race tyers better grip but different handeling in corners with K n L vs Ball joint a great experience to test both cars with in ten minutes of each other
Greg takes corners differnt to the rest of us mind u he was heaps quicker I tried both lines but couldnt work out which was right
Steve C was doing the same lines as Greg and was doing equally in appearance in corners but Gregs car had more grunt and was a faster on unofficial lap times from the HILL crowd
When i jumped rinto the other cars ( Boris n Gregs ) I had an unofficial 4 or 5 second a lap quicker time than in my own car
4 got to say Thanks to Josh for stiring us all up and getting us track side
Club Vee Dub will be organising a day later in the year after the VW Nats so think about coming along fora great day

Today was a good day to learn how much my car has got, only bad thing is cant really get up to top speed but i was getting alot of understeer. But it was a good day and will defiantly be doing it again soon.

I had great day, thanks to Josh for getting things started, thanks to everyone who turned up. We filled up at the local Marulan servo on the way down, and then filled up again on the way back, we had done 104 ks.
I'm a bit busy now, but I will load photos and videos soon.
The last thing I remember you doing was going for a run as a passenger in a neat little blue car that went whoosh on gear changes 🙄 So how was it, you want one. Was a bloody nice car 👍

I noticed that in the photo to and I have had Greg trying to explain how the camber compensator works to stop this, but I just cant get my head around it (me dumb).
