Here is the extractor system I bougt from esevwbits.
It does not fit. Its hitting the engine mount brace, before it gets half way down the thread on the manifold stud.
Shown in the pictures. What can I do?
Pumba 路
I had the same problem, just bend them a little馃憤
Joels72Lowlight 路
Okay so that won't ruin the performance or anything?
Sounds good then.
Cheers mate
Pumba 路
Wont effect performance, mine still sits very close but so far no problems,i guess thats why they are cheap馃榿 i fitted mine to a 69 panel cheers shane.
Joels72Lowlight 路
Cheers Mate. Ill go give it a go with the gas.
ian.mezz 路
Yes just give em a hit with a ball hammer and while you are under the car it looks like it wouldn't hurt to clean the oil off of the bottom of motor and those cooling fins
Pumba 路
It is a bit dirty under there, didnt you just have this motor out joel馃榿
vw54 路
did u ask for a exhaust to fit a Kombi ???
71-BEETLE-SEDAN 路
Once you get it to fit they are a good system,
Joels72Lowlight 路
All good now 馃憤
Haha I haven't got around to cleaning yet. I;m just test fitting everything.
Pictures pictures pictures.

Gotta love the holden carby.
Did the jets need drilling outor did you fit an adjustable one?
71-BEETLE-SEDAN 路
Love the air filter too, What carby is it?
mackaymanx 路
Fuel filter may need moving.
Bizarre 路
Cant see properly but isnt the fuel filter round the wrong way??
Also put a hose clamp from the muffler bracket round the header pipe.
Have you used those heater pipe bits??
Got a pic of them??
Joels72Lowlight 路
No drilling,I wil eventually put an adjustable main jet in but for now it runs fine.
The carby is a 1/32 Stromberg off a 138, the throttle body is from a 161. Bolts onto the vw manifolds.
The fuel isn't staying there, It is only temporary lines to see how the stromberg ran. I'm getting some nice stainless lines made up.
Shit I think the fue filter is wrong. I can remember the narrow end facing the pump.
The heater pipe bits were shocking! Didnt line up at all. Ill just line them up and weld them myself.
All up though, She runs brilliantly. Kinda disappointed that the exhaust doesn't have more of a note, but I spose its a quiet pack 馃槀
Pumba 路
The heater pipes should have clamps, why do you want to weld them???
Bizarre 路
vwmad wrote:The heater pipes should have clamps, why do you want to weld them???
There was some sort of steel pipe supplie with the exhaust for where it runs next to the header
Bizarre 路
If you can weld and have the motor out SERIOSLY consider putting a flange kit on cylinder 2 & 4 exhausts
Joels72Lowlight 路
Okay cheers mate. Ill look into it. I still have a bit of welding to do in the engine bay so I have plenty of time.

thanks Barry for the idea as i have a similar system but years old ,it was always moving on no.4. i suppose thats my first foreign order for this year when i go back to work in 2 weeks馃憤
Bizarre 路
One of the best things i ever did
I LOVE my heat in winter - but i was sick and tired of not being able to get a good seal
I tried high tensile bolts and all
Pumba 路
Im talking about where the extractors slide over the heater boxes or j tubes???
Pumba 路
Are now i see what you mean barry, looks great馃憤
Joels72Lowlight 路
Ahh yes thats the go. Looks schmick as.
Flange's make a neat job.
Stainless heater boxes look good.
They were good stock ones I had cleaned then ceramic coated
Took me ages to find a good pair
Insurance that i keep them that way
Joels72Lowlight 路
They look brilliant.
How much would you pay to get heater boxes ceramic coated?
Bizarre 路
I got them done through Richard Holzl at V Force along with a heap of other things
Give him a call and talk to him

If your after a better note get a cannon, Like mine its the same header too.

Is that a fuel filter in the engine bay???
VERY DANGEROUS... that's why VW never had them in there...
they bounce about and can pull the metal pipe out of the fuel pump OR Carburetor...
then Your car will burn....
ALSO- You need a fire extinguisher in Your Beetle....

Yeah I'm just thinking the same thing. How much and where from? looks sweet.
Did you just buy the tailpie?
71-BEETLE-SEDAN 路
I just got a bit of 52mm exhaust pipe bent a bit past 90 degrees and made another flange welded it too it and put the canon back welded it up and put the hanger on to a bumper bolt with a rubber thing to stop rattles. Cost bout 140 alj up causm cannon was 120 but sounds good
