are the guard bolt patterns different from a super bug to a standard beetle. i want to put super bug guards on my 67 beetle is this possible?

Im preety certain that they are different. I think everything behind the a pillar of supers will fit standards but nothing from in front.

rears are the same but front are different
the bumper bracket holes are in different locations as well
do u really want to desecrate an early bug with late model guards?
Yogie ·
The front ones are also a different shape to the standard bug as they curve around under the front bumper a lot more. This would look odd if you could actually get it on as the front valance panel would still be shaped like a standard beetle and the guards would wrap underneath..

Like Joel and Yogie have said, Super and L guards won't fit a 67 at all.... but 68 and later beam bug guards will bolt up to a 67... and still line up with the front apron/valance pretty normally.
So, if all you're trying to do is get the later upright headlights, sure - why not.
Not uncommon for people to go the other way, and put earlier guards on later cars... like with my Jezebel for example... but don't think I've ever seen late guards on an early car...

geez where were you in the 80s sides?
was the "in" thing to do back then
usually accompanied by a carrera kit
theres a very unloved bug sitting in a front yard in town that to look at you would swear is a 68 on bug
till u notice the windows are 6volt
has 4 bolt wheels, late model front and rear valance and bonnets, late model interior, even a late model fuel filler door
all on a 62 beetle 😂
like yogie said Sbug gaurds curve totally differently at the bottom
