Hi i'm 14 and have had my bug 4 years now. He's a 1972 super beetle in white.
This is couple of months ago, as you can see he's a little off tilt )still fixing the suspention), though he rides well for stock!
He's been stripped for top coat spray next weekend

Hye nath, i dont go on msn much but i am going to the nations depending on footy draw etc.
I would say there would be quite a large sydney convoy heading down and we could easily meet up with em at a servo or something. As well as Greg Macky and any other dubbers form round here.

Does anyone know where i could get a set of lowback seats for a bug 😵💫
Seen a few bugs on the weekend there is 2 bugs at a house on the way to goulburn ones light green they must use it as a paddock basher it has a spotlight and they have a white one around the back whitch they must use for parts.
Then there is one on the lawn of a house in goulburn a blue one looks like a 66 and also if u head out crookwell way in a paddock on a little hill there is a white bug poor thing just sitting there rotting 🙁

Well about 8 months ago sum1 poured a bag of concrete on my 71 soft-top, so it went everywhere and inside too ( all over my new upholstery... ) My car wasnt targeted it was about 6 cars parked out the front of my mates house, apparently sum1 was havin a party n were too loud, so they called the cops, then these ppl thought Payback with concrete. Lucky i started to wash it just b4 it started to rain.
Also, about 5 months back, sum dick must have been throwing eggs out their car as they drove down the road at nite, my car was parked ( Same place as with concrete) and got hit right in the middle on the side, ruined the paint, i was soo pissed. Dont think i'll bother fixing the paint now tho, it will be too much work, ill hav to respray so much.
note to self, dnt park out the front of my mate's anymore

why do you want low backs? It was a saftey issue that they were discontinued them in the first place
to many people ending up with spinal injuries from the dumbass behind crashing into them
and plenty of that going on now with all the P platers that thing they can text while driving
71 was the only year of low backs with T runners, and most of them have been swapped for highbacks now

Yea i kno it was a safety issue brought in in 1971 for head/neck support (Due to accidents), but the high backs that they made in comparison to thel ook of the lowbacks are quite unappealing, they are too square at the top, either that or ill put gemini seats in it lyk are in my current beetle.

Well no, i know it was sum1 across the road that did it, the people that rang the cops were my mates next door neighbour (who is a cop ), and their cars didnt even get targeted, i was spewing when i woke up the next day and saw it. When i first got my ps we were crusin at night and there was couple guys in a pulsar and we were given em some shit and then we seen em later and they threw and egg at my car and i didnt realise till too late. But we got em back cause pulled up at a set of lights aother night and i spoted an unmarked cop car around the corner, we egged em on to spin the whels and soon as they did the coppers turned around and pulled em ova.

The 64 has a fair bit to go.
At the moment we are planning on building a shed up the back to work on it in. Mum and dad just bought it off my brother so that he could buy himself another newer car and still keep the beetle.
We still havent decided what path were gunna take it down, i reckon clasic look lowered onto its guts with a big beefy aircooler engine. But that alot of money which i dont have atm,
And im doing the 71 up again soon with a subi motor.

It was pretty good day up at robertson aye, more cars then i was expecting and also not the types of cars i was expecting, lyk the mustangs and other muscle cars...
Wasnt the Sydney VW club supposed to be there?? i saw one nice early blue beetle which i think was from the club, but apart from that there was only 4 other beetles and 3 kombies i think. I was hoping to see a few more to give me sum ideas on how im gonna do my 71 up, both paint and upholstery. Alwell, ill probably go to Blast from the Past next month, apparrently they had sumthing lyk 80 vw's last year, should be good

They arnt White, they are a kinda tan/ cream colour, I originally wanted white but the upholsterer talked me out of it, saying they are too hard to keep clean and most ppl get a colour similar to the one that i chose, im glad now cause i think white would hav been too BRIGHT and give too much GLARE especially in a convertible anyways. Plus i looked at the material samples next too each other, it does appear heaps darker when you got it against the white, but on its own it doesnt. I have enough troubles keeping mine clean, well it doesnt help wen i deliver pizzas in my car lol

LOL Club VeeDub Sydney WERE SUPPOSED to be there, But Apart from Me and Nath I think there was only 1 other Club VeeDub Bug. And we didn't even see the owner!!!! And my bug is tempermentle yesterday he stalled 2 times comeing out of the shed which just about never happens then didnt want to go at the light s lol and a plater gave me strange look s lol then didnt want to go on the round about and weasnt much better driveing home lol then i drove to music that night and he was fine strange i guess bugs do seem to have a mind of there own 🙂

Mine used to never like going around the roundabout in the mornings. It used to stall as i slowed down coming up to it HAHA.
Its probably just not warmed up enough, n i bet you havent driven it in winter before cause you will notice a difference on cold cold mornings. It wont lyk taking off too fast at the lights when its cold and mite jolt a few times
I put the stock Air-cleaner back on a couple of days ago and re-attached the warm air intake hose. It is noticebly better then trying to suck in cold, well i think so anyways...

i love the roundabouts, espescially in the wet, get the back end out and it stays there for ages. Bit hard to get used to hough alot of stalls and spin uts but ive got it down now.
But mine is good, i adjusted the timing the other day, but gotta change it again cause not keeping the volts up.

Yea its keeping pretty good. Havent done much work lately on my other one tho. I really want it to be finished already, i wanna drive it, keep warm properly in the winter and not sand it anymore...

yeah im going down on sat hopefully in the bug, had some issues today but home from bowral now and think i knoww what ive done wrong. i would say that ill meet up with most the sydney bugs at either sutten forest maccas or marulan.

They are the ones on eBay atm. Ask for them to send you a photo of the rails on the bottom, and compare them with your current seats rails. They are probably L rails and 71 are T rails (rails/ runners = same same)

I'd do the Automotive Panelbeating course (I think you have to go to 'Gong TAFE to do it... I know Bomo don't offer it and it is a pretty big campus), and if ya feel like it, the Automotive Mechanical (Light Vehicle) Pre-Apprenticeship course is a lot of fun and will teach you a good ammount of stuff, and is a good way to set you up for a career in the trade if you so please... that one you could do at Bomaderry, they have a really good Automotive faculty workshop. 😎

Ive been to Classic Vee Dub up near Ryde, they got everything u can think of. Thats where the vw specialist down here gets all his supplies from. Except the bloke that Owns/runs it is ethnic and hard to understand, n i dnt really think he is the best person to ask advice from.

hey guys im 14 and i just bought this 1956 oval, the right heater channel arrived today and the battery section and lower quarter panel are in the post, im planning on chucking a type 4 with some webbers in it, it turns out the guy i bought it off had a type 4 aswell so we got that for 180 bucks! cant wait on digging in and spending some hard earned $$$

Hey yesterday i got pulled over becouse i was going to slow i was doing 50 in a 70 zone becouse i wasnt sure what the speed was so i did under till i got to the speed sign up ahead i got there and got to 65 before he pulled me over isnt it better to do under than over then told me that my wheel was wobbling ??????🙄
