My car normally starts and runs nice for the first 5 minutes untill its warm
But today at the top of the street i give it a gut full to get trough traffic and all goes well
so i pull out from the paper shop and it all goes haywire F Me the pig is running ruff 3 ks up the road and its farting and spewing give it a gut full in third to clear plugs and it settles
next lights and its fu d again banging and farting back firing NO POWER untill cruise no power to get off at the lights at all
take of from the lights is very BAD
get onto cruse and its Ok
get to work and i decide the plugs must be fouled
OK so i get a new set of plugs ( thanks to mates ) buggar all tools to change but got it done
I broke my first spark plug ever installing them Fuck was i pissed they were platinium plugs as well never done that before but i had a shitty plug spanner
FARK NKG make 16 mm hex and 18 mm hex shit u would thing they would standardise
So got the new plugs in plus one S / H old one and it fired OK
So it get down the free way and it starts agiain coughing n farting absolutly NO power
Over to Boris who quizies me on what happened ,,, may be the coil
so we fit a S/h crap one no dfference
Then he finds one similar to what i have and bingo it works
Farking electrical who needs it
I am more piissed with myself for braking a plug but the car is crusing again for now

Ah so you use 3 new Japanese spark prugs!
In the old days they would have recommended you use these. Although I doubt anyone uses Champions any more.

Phil you must have more historical crap around than me!😁
Dave never assume problems are plugs, it is geting harder every year or we are getting older.Glad to hear that the little bugger is fixed.Cheers les

Ring NRMA next time..then you wont break a plug 😂😂
Bizarre ·
From what i remember - changing those plugs would be a BITCH

yeah Baz gunna cut some access hole on the rear inner guards
so i can fit a long extension down there to remove n replace the plugs
and buy a better ratchet with a flex head

How about a quick run down on what car this is with what EFI system ?
I personally dont like platinum plugs as they foul too easily with a bad batch of fuel or on narrowband efi too slow to react to sudden extra heat from a large increase in boost if your running a larger turbo than factory .
bajachris88 ·
So its still playing up?
remember with any efi, any fouling MAP or AFM (or even sticky AFM) makes it run suprisingly gutless and shiz! [in comparison to wat else can go wrong] Usually they cough and backfire if u put a boot full, and the only way to accelerate with em is to gently and slowly when an AFM or MAP has failed. On most cars particularly toyota, the ecu auto shuts down the engine when map of afm dies.
ignition advance on these things still vacuum? is that still alright?
